The shiny overexposed part is the reflection / light leak of the flash from
a kids phone who was trying to get the same shot :D

Wow, the overexposure doesn't even look bad. I think the "night feel" of the shine just makes it look cooler.

Well, it looks like light beaming down from the left sky onto the right mountainside, while the specs in the sky on the right look like stars. I think these two things give the photo a surreal duality.
