RE: Steemitguide: Tips & Tricks for Writing Steemit Posts [Edition 1]

in #steemitguide8 years ago (edited)

Good advice BUT.
(the eternal, infernal yeah but)
That's too hard, too time consuming and it's so last millenia.
Steemit should be better than that.
Everywhere you look. ANY wordprocessor, has WissyWig (What you see is what you get) WYSIWYG.
Steemit Don't.
Steemit is claimed to be cutting edge.
Then why does it's text editor suck brown lumpy canal water?

yeah...I know we're still in Beta

Sort:

They could always make adjustment. Like you said were still in Beta.
But i do like using Markdown, it may be complicated at first but it's easy to get used to.
This is why Steemit Post are so neat!

Agreed and agreed.
AFTER you get used to mark down (I know a tiny little bit of it)
It's ok. Kinda fun.
BUT (the eternal BUT)
In some ways it's similar to typing (riding bicycle or a horse)
The learning curve is STEEP.
For the casual user (your mom for example, or grandparent)...they are not going to go to the trouble.
At the moment Steemit is Geek heaven...and it shows.
Do we want to keep it that way? Only geeks need apply?

Well it depends :) i do admit there is plenty of room for improvement!
But i don't think it's a Geek Heaven, because it would be wrong to stereotype! There are all sorts of people flocking over to Steemit.
One i thing i can tell you for sure is that Steemit is Simple! , they way we format post in such a standardized way is great!
Not all old people will struggle, but i must admit many of them would struggle to use both MS WORD or Markdown, the problem of learning however is to get used to something which can be time-consuming but it shouldnt be difficult to learn!

So i personally am a fan of Markdown, because it offers a standardized method to write out post, it's also the reason why Steemit is so neat, all the focus is on people posts!

there should be a custom Steemit Tutorial or Markdown Writer software or application made by Steemit, intended for Steemians who struggle to familiarize with Markdown Style Writing
