Yesterday was a great day for me and other young local programmers who have never had the chance to showcase our brilliance to the world.

The Apps challenge is an avenue for all app developers around the country from senior high school students to tertiary students and finally to freelance programmers to showcase their written codes and explain how these codes work to solve a societal problem.

Yesterday's program was just a roadshow but apps and softwares that were showcased was just too mind blowing suggesting that the main programme itself will be very competitive and educative.

Some of these apps were, early food( a fast food delivery site), Bus ticket reservation( an app that allows you to sit in the comfort of your home and reserve a bus ticket ) and also a farmyard management application that allows farmers and veterinary doctors to create and store data on any of their individual farm produce and animals.

Also, the audience was divided into four groups with each a topic on the app making process from startup, problem identification and to marketing of the application.

Getting to the end we were briefed on how the main challenge will be setup and cash prizes involved. (3 categories -IOT, Android Apps and short 2-3minutes animation series of five videos) prizes include 200,000 cedis for overall winner and data prizes.

Lots of prices including phones, data and cash in the form of mobile money were given to deserved winners. Overall, the programme was a success and I was glad to be a part of it.
