RE: The 1st Steemit Fitness Challenge - 20 Years Out Of Shape - WORKOUT 006
Nobody can stop you now @winstonwolfe!
I hope you don't mind if you offer you what I consider really important advice. It looks like when you're attempting to do a squat you're actually doing something that could one day give you a knee injury.
Because the knee is not a muscle people don't realise the damage they do to them until one day they just go.
Advice
- Use a mirror to help you to get this technique right.
- As you squat down your bum should go back behind you
- You'll notice this is much harder on your thighs which is the muscle this exercise is meant to work
- Watch your knees in the mirror and keep them from going forward in front of your toes
- If you're not getting my meaning, practice with a chair.
- A squat is just like sitting back onto an invisible chair.
- Your knees should be bent at a right angle
- It looks like you were sitting onto your ankles which applies more pressure on the knees
This is a video I used for another blog. You don't have to have your feet so wide apart like I have (I'm doing this to work my inner thighs more) but everything else applies.
Just got done with workout 007 and followed your advice.
HOLY WOW. There it is!
