KAPAG READY KA NA : MGA KATAGA
"God will give it to you when you're ready."
"Hindi ka pa kasi ready kaya wala pa."
"Don't worry. Kapag ready ka na, darating din yan."
I can't count anymore the times I've read and heard these lines. Don't get me wrong. It's encouraging. It gives hope but is it really about being ready?
Is it really about being ready?
How do you even know if you're ready? Anytime you think you are? Is it when you are confident enough to enter a relationship, to start a business, or to pursue your passion?
When really? Or better yet, are we really going to reach that point in our lives that we could confidently say, "I'm ready."
I personally believe that God will not give us what we are asking for just because we are ready for it. If being ready means we can do it all by ourselves, then what do we need God for?
Maybe, it's not about being ready but being matured enough to accept the truth that in any kind of relationships, there is no such thing as perfection.
Maybe, when we stop looking to our own abilities, that's the only time we start to fully embrace that failures are part of our growth. It's just up to us whether we get stuck with it or we learn from it.
Maybe, when we stop being so focused on becoming so "ready," we will get that chance to look around and see people for who they really are and not for who we want them to be.
I don't know about you but I would rather be with someone who's not ready but matured enough to stay in a commitment where there is an allowance for grace and mistakes.
So the next time you ask yourself, maybe, you could tweak the question a little bit. Rather than asking yourself if you're ready.
Ask yourself, "Do I have the maturity to confidently trust the Lord to stay if He asks me to stay and to let go if He asks me to let go?"
"Am I mature enough to choose to trust the Lord even if the going gets tough and I wouldn't have any idea of the purpose behind the pain?"
