Technical Writing: Proper Way of Writing a Project Proposal to the Community and Sample

Hello today i will be showing you my research proposal in technical writing. Do you want to suggest something to the community? Do you want your proposal to be heard? Well the first thing you need to do is to write a letter or proposal so that your suggestion will be realized. Just like in my case, it was just a little project that we had suggested in which later we found out that the Local Government had approved our proposal, you'll never know!

Writing a Proposal can be very technical and challenging. So I will be showing you a project proposal that i wrote and to give you some guide as well.

How to get Started with your Project Proposal

A project proposal is a core document the helps you sell a potential project to sponsors and stakeholders that will help the community to improved something. But you need to consider the following:

• What’s the problem you’re trying to solve?
• Plan Ahead
• The goal of your project
• What are the benefits for the user
• Requirements
• Summary of Solution
• Floor Plan and Data

So this my project proposal:

A PROPOSAL TO INSTALL CCTV CAMERAS IN TIBANGA HIGHWAY, ILIGAN CITY

This is a proposal to provide a constant monitoring and security to the residents of Tibanga, Iligan City through installing Closed-Circuit Television or CCTV cameras along the highway. CCTV cameras will surely help and enable the Iligan City Police to have an easy and wider monitoring of different crimes and accidents in Tibanga, Iligan.

WHAT I PROPOSE TO DO

We would like to install CCTV cameras specifically in Tibanga-Highway, an area wherein accidents happen like over speeding which lead to vehicle bumping, violating traffic rules and in some cases hitting the students and residents crossing on the highway. CCTV cameras will strengthen the security and the monitoring system.

WHAT I WOULD LIKE TO SOLVE

With the increasing accidents in Tibanga, Iligan and with the present system it is very clear that lack of security and monitoring system of the Iligan City Police is a big problem. As of the month of April 2017, the Iligan City Police with the cooperation of Tibanga traffic enforcers had already recorded 42 cases of car and vehicle accidents and 9 cases of robbery in Tibanga. Majority of these cases are over speeding, pedestrian-vehicle accidents, and even violating traffic signs or signals. There is also a rising incident of robbery along this area of Iligan and often times the thefts were not immediately caught because of the lack of evidence. CCTV (closed-circuit television) is a TV system in which signals are not publicly distributed but are monitored, primarily for surveillance and security purposes.

WHAT BENEFITS WE WILL ACHIEVE

The benefits will occur at five levels:

• Iligan City Police Officers and Traffic Enforcers will have an easy monitoring of vehicle flow in Tibanga. Besides monitoring the roads for closures or accidents, CCTV camera footage will also help the government make decisions regarding future constructions and road development. And since there is a constant monitoring of the traffic enforcers, they can alert the residents of Tibanga for any suspicious activities, enabling the residents to know what is happening and notify the police before any crime has been committed.

• Tibanga is a heavily congested highway as it is one of the central highways in Iligan City. CCTV cameras would be very helpful in this area because it can provide security both for the commuters and residents. It can reduced their fear of crime knowing that they are protected and there will be a strong chance of detection and conviction if in case they become a victim of any crime.

• Installing CCTV cameras along Tibanga highway will discourage suspicious activities. When people see security cameras, they are less likely to act out for fear of getting caught. As video surveillance records everything, it can capture activities of thieves, assaults and other crimes on tape that law enforcement officials can use as evidence to prosecute the criminal.

• Encourage safe driving – Drivers will be more vigilant and careful in driving. Visible surveillance cameras posted at intersections will encourage them for a safe driving habits and discourage moving violations.

WHAT WILL THIS COST

The Budget Department of the Neon Capture company had arrange the following line item budget proposal with the sum of FIFTY-THREE THOUSAND NINE HUNDRED SEVENTY AND FORTY-TWO CENTAVOS (Php 53, 970.42) or such other sums may be ascertained in accordance with the prices set forth below:

WORK SCHEDULE
The delivery and installation of CCTV cameras were expressed as days stipulates hereafter the date of the issuance of Notice to Proceed (NTP).

WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?

With the approval of this proposal, the Neon Capture Company will be in partnership with the Iligan City Police and will purchase and install CCTV Cameras in Tibanga, Highway.

1.Neon Capture Managers will hold a brief meeting with the special unit of police officers and traffic enforcers explaining the new system and procedures.

2.A signing of a contract of agreement between both parties in terms of partnership will take place.

3.Installation of CCTV cameras in six specific areas along Tibanga highway- intersection near Petron and Kristine’s Bakery, near Mercury Drugs Store, near Badelles Overpass, intersection going to Barangay San Miguel, and near Iligan Transmotors- and setting up the monitoring computers in the office located in Tambo, Iligan City.

4.After the installation, Neon Corporation will held a test run which includes the flow of the new system as well as checking its monitoring computers.

5.Traffic enforcer and Police officers in Iligan will report at the end of the day.

We are ready to institute the proposal as soon we receive an executive decision.

Choosen Location

The chosen locations were identified by the Traffic Enforcers and Police officers as the danger prone area wherein accidents happened most of the time.

I went to survey to the Police Station and have some interview on the possible places best to place the camera. Then i went to the place they had suggested with. I used Photoshop by the way to edit the photos especially the camera

First location is in the intersection near Petron and Kristine’s Bakehouse which is oneof the busy intersections in Tibanga.

The next location will be near Mercury Drug Store for based on our research, there were many recorded incident of robbery here. We aim to protect not only the store owners along this area but also those student borders who cases of robbery.



Two CCTV cameras will be installed near Badelles Overpass. This would offer the traffic enforcers a wide monitoring of the entire area in Tibanga, Highway.

One camera will be installed near the intersection going to San Miguel.This will help keep a record of any cases of accidents along this area.

That is how you write a project proposal though.
"Once your proposal is approved, the real work begins. You’ll have to plan, schedule, manage resources, monitor progress and report back to your sponsors."
