How Much Poo Is On the Moon??
My high school physics teacher was well known throughout school for his cringeworthy humor. Every once in a while he would produce a pretty interesting concept cloaked in a good laugh. One lesson in particular sticks with me not only because of the content of the class but because of his odd personal views.
At the time of this lesson we were tackling concepts like velocity, force and momentum. The clip that Lucian (at my high school, we were required to call instructors by their first names) shared with us was pretty much par for the course:
It's not like we couldn't expect something like this from him. He seemed to like torturing his students with crude humor and in hindsight, it really helped a lot of those lessons to stick in my mind, personally. It was funny to watch all of my peers discuss urine and feces and how eating too much Chipotle could cause catastrophe (beyond the long bathroom trip kind of trouble we experience on Earth). The part that got everybody going, however, was hearing Lucian talk about how the moon landing was a hoax - BUT IF IT WASN'T A HOAX how would we have to use the restroom without disturbing the trajectory of our space craft?!
So yeah, the combination of increasingly less discreet poop jokes with the seemingly crazy ramblings of our physics teacher led to a pretty memorable class.
