Since 2015, Pope Francis has been a crusader for environmental protection and penned an encyclical on climate change, titled “Laudato Si,” which is considered both a searing indictment of the world’s failure to protect the environment and a call to action.
The Pope is clear that climate change is the greatest threat of life our Earth has ever seen – and that it is caused by humans. As a priest, Pope Francis stands in protection and care for his flock, 1.2 billion Catholics world-wide, and for all God’s children, especially the poorest.
Today, we urge all believers to reflect and ask themselves what they are doing to care for God’s creation.
We urge all Believers to be guardians of God’s creation because caring for creation is as old as Genesis, as clear as the Sermon on the Mount and as transformative as St. Francis.
God gave us this paradise called Earth: What are you doing to take care of God's gift to you?
