Kindergarten: Birds
Today we are going to have some fun learning about birds, what they eat, where they live and their body parts.
Start the lesson off by having a group discussion (circle time) with the class. Here are some ideas of questions you could ask:
- Have you seen birds outside?
- What color birds have you seen?
- What food do they eat?
- Where do birds live?
After circle time show the class the following video:

If possible have a little trip out to the zoo or someplace where they farm with birds.
To finish off this lesson one of these art activities can be considered:

I really enjoyed that thanks for sharing.
I love your lessons for the little ones - whenever I explain things to them I always think but I am sure they know this, but we tend to forget that not all kids grow up the same way or that they actually see things around them. Thank you - resteeming
You have a point Anneke. We have one girl in our kindergarten who don't live on a farm, all of the others either lives on one or has family who they visit quite often. and you can see the difference in their knowledge or animals etc. Jammer, afr is makliker. Hul verwysingsraamwerk is net heeltemal anders as wat haar verwysingsraamwerk is. Daarom is dit so belangrik om aan te neem dat hul dit nie weet nie, as hul dit weet is dit 'n bonus.
Introducing children to nature and birds from young, appreciating their value and learning more makes your content a lovely read @tanyaschutte
