What does earth look like from outer space:

Here you can see the following:
• Some of the continents.
• Oceans
• Clouds
• Some of the numerous islands.

Our planet, earth, is currently the only planet where humans and animals can live, where there is food we can eat and oxygen we can breath.

We have 7 continents:
• Africa
• North America
• South America
• Asia
• Europe
• Antarctica
• Australia

We have 5 oceans:
• Atlantic Ocean
• Indian Ocean
• Arctic Ocean
• Antarctic Ocean
• Pacific Ocean

In Space we find the following:
• The Sun (It is a star and provides earth with light, heat and energy.)![]

• The moon (It is a cold, dead ball of rock and dust. It revolves around the earth.)

• Planets (There are 8 planets, which includes earth.)

[]
This is how the planets look on the orbits.

• Meteors (This is chunks of rock. When they find there way into our atmosphere they become extremely hot and burn out. We call them “shooting stars”, (when they hit earth we call them meteorites.)

• Comets (This is chunks of ice and has that travels in large orbits throughout the Solar System)

There are at least three different types of telescopes that can be used to watch the stars.

Space Travel
A lot of people has either orbit the earth or has been on a planet.
Niel Armstrong was the first person to set a foot on the moon.

He will also not be the last person, since technology is developing a lot faster/

Satellites
Satellites are send into space to gather more information. This information are then send to Space stations like NASA.

After you have gone through all the above information, use it to answer the following questions:
a. What can you see from spacewhen looking at earth?
b. How many continents does earth have? Name them.
c. How many oceans does earth have? Name them.
d. What can you find in space?
e. What is die light and heat source for earth?
f. How many planets are there?
g. How many type of telescopes are there?

Space project
Learners can work individually or as a group.
Create a model of the planets. This can either be in a poster format or a 3D format.
