Using blockchain in an ecommerce website

Steem Files Logo Steem Files Webmaster

One fundamental paramount problem in using some kind of payment system is knowing whether a transaction happened or not. So, an API is used to track what transactions happen on the host (steemfiles.com). I say the "host" because the server is the software and the host is the machine. There are multiple software packages that make the website work. There is a web-server component. There is a database component. There is a payment watcher component.

Whereas before, the server only recorded who sent the money to steemfiles or who steemfiles sent the money to. Now, the server will record what block number did this happen and where in the block did it happen. This improvement will make tracking payments and payouts easier for users of Steemfiles.
