Using The Learning Cycle to Help Create Steemit Posts

The Learning Cycle is a never-ending cycle that is used by tutors and teachers on an ongoing basis to create content for classes and courses and I have found that it actually relevant to creating Steemit posts too.

This is the version I learned. I am going to talk about it as if preparing for a lesson...

(1) Identification

On this stage, we ask who is the lesson for, what will be the purpose of the lesson - it's goal?

(2) Planning and Design

Questions to consider here would be things like what style will you deliver the lesson in, what extra resources will you need to have or prepare?

(3) Delivery

This is when you actually teach the class or lesson and you use your teaching skills and roles to deliver the content as best you can.

(4) Assessment

Did the lesson go as it was planned and the learners learn what they needed to learn? It is good to try and get some kind of feedback. In a class setting, observation can as also be used as an ongoing assessment.

(5) Evaluation

Taking the assessment into consideration, the next the time the lesson is taught any improvements can be implemented or areas that were not covered enough put into the lesson.

And that brings us back to (1) Identification again and so the cycle continues. It is a fluid continuous improvement.

I have recreated the cycle to use for writing Steemit Posts:

(1) Identify Subject

What subject shall I write about and who is it for?
I wanted to show Steemians a good system for creating posts on Steemit.

(2) Plan and Design Post

What materials might I need to create my post?
It could be videos, photos, or in my case a diagram to show my point.

And in what style shall I write it?
I want to write it in a way that is understandable and clear

If you are new to Steemit, this might mean learning about markdown to format your post nicely.

(3) Publish Post

When you have planned and designed the post, it is time to hit that Post button.

(4) Read Comments

You will get feedback on your post in the form of comments and upvotes. If you are new, then your plan of attack here would be to get your post noticed more, but that is a whole different topic.

(5) Evaluate the Post

Here you need to decide whether you have covered everything you need to in the post and think about if there are any lessons learned as to what you could do to improve your next post and what subject it might be.
