My toddler grows really fast, He is more inquisitive day by day. Always fascinated, and a keen observer in his surroundings, he is growing socially active, being friendly with people or children his same age. Though, sometimes he can be challenging and can get very cheeky at times. (throws up his food and smile, he is teasing me).

They always say our Home is our first school, True and correct! Our home is full of interesting things for our toddlers. You will be surprised how he enjoyed an empty box and cooking spoons and played it for ages. So be wary at buying lots of expensive toys, often times its not necessary.

"Teaching your child first about SHARING and MANNERS. numbers and letters can be learn at school.

Home is always our Best and Foundation school

  • instilling good manners early in home is very important as the child grows to nurture himself and his social development.

Stop comparing your child!

  • Each child is unique. We are all unique. Do not worry about achievements like counting 1 -10 or reciting the letters. (This can learn this from the school). Ignore the question about your child's achievement lesson, and try not to compare. It is unnecessary, It tarnish the confidence in your child.

Fun + Engagement = Learning

  • Enjoying, Interaction and being comfortable is the best way to learn for a child. fun encourages engagement, Make sure that he is interested on what he do. In this way, we are helping them to develop their cognitive, confidence and social development.

Spend more time and have fun. create more ways and games as much as you can.

(Our unplanned visit in the Beach yesterday. He had lots of fun playing over the waves)

Get the Best from your Little one

  1. Read lots of books. children loves books. try to engage them, by letting them turn the page or talk about the pictures.

  2. Do an art and crafts together. It's a lot of fun! Set aside your worries about hands getting dirty. let him explore. It will help him develop his imagination and his motor development.

  3. Nurture your child

  4. Do things together he really enjoy. (reading books or playing cars).

  5. Communication. Talk to him. It will help him expand his vocabulary.

  6. Take him to the playground where he can meet children.

  7. Loads of cuddles and kisses!

  8. Let him be an explorer. let him be adventurous.

  9. Make learning be fun. learning numbers and reading books in fun ways. (count making a tower with blocks or read books in a silly manner).

  10. Nurture his interest. for example; If he is fascinated with trains or cars, take him to a railway station.

As a little person in a big world, experiences and learning are endless. There are lots of practical ways we can help to develop his psychological, social and emotional development.

My wife homeschools our children. Our schooling model does not work for everyone, but I do hope that more parents would consider how they are "teaching" their children in everyday situations.

Children learn a lot from modeling (learning by example). As parents, we have a great opportunity to be our kiddos' teachers. They are always watching!

How do your wife homeschool your kids? until 18 years old?

We find and use school curriculum that meets the learning needs of each child. And we use a lot of everyday activities to reinforce what our children are learning.

Will we homeschool until our children are 18 years old? I don't know. We will make decisions based on what is best for our child at that time.

Wow patience and time are needed. Will it be a burden since only one income for the family ?

Thats right @sumatranate, They portray what they see in their parents, so its important to be a model that you would like them to portray. Thank you and best wishes!

I homeschooled my son for a while when he was younger (he is a teenager now and back at school) but homeschooling was amazing nourishment for us both! You have such a beautiful family! Enjoy every precious moment :D xx

That's cool! Do you work at home to reduce the burden of living expenses?

I actually gave up work to homeschool my son :)

Thank you @beautifulbullies. Homeschooling was indeed a lovely experience for every parent.
Best wishes to you. Xx

So true! All the best things are instilled at home- core values! I totally agree with your equation: fun+engagement =learning! And I think that is true for most of our lives , not just when we are small...

It is so important what you say! To engage with your child is the most fun you can give him, toys are indeed not very nescesarry, household equipment does fine! Children like to play 'grown up' fro practice. Ik like number 7: cuddles. :-)
