Two planets align with the Moon

They expect beautiful celestial view today, Sunday, at sunset

A pair of planets will keep the Moon company during the dusk this Sunday, so it is encouraged to observe the west shortly after sundown.

The Caribbean Astronomy Society (SAC) pointed out that just to the right of the thin crescent Moon you can see the planet Venus, as well as Mercury.

"This will be a good opportunity to see Mercury, an elusive planet that many have never seen as the closest to the Sun, which causes it to be a visible planet in few occasions in our skies," explained Juan González Alicea, president of the educational entity.

The SAC indicated that although the conjunction will be better appreciated between 6:50 p.m. and 7:15 p.m. On Sunday, to see it, it will be essential to avoid visual obstructions such as structures or trees, since these celestial objects will be close to the western horizon.

He clarified that Venus will be the brightest of the two planets that will almost form a horizontal line with our natural satellite. The curious sight will disappear shortly after 7:15 p.m. for the west horizon, due to the rotation of the Earth.
