Feeling satisfied with his performance in school influences the concept that is formed of himself, in his self-esteem and in the possibilities of becoming an adult in the future. All thanks to the fact that the child is going to value his effort and positively evaluate his actions.

In this sense, grades are a result, therefore the attitude of parents towards learning is important. It is precisely our attitude towards homework, exams and school attendance that influences school performance. When we transmit positive messages to our children we make them see the school experience as something pleasant and full of possibilities, while also stimulating their self-esteem.

How to incite a child to school achievement?

• When a child does not want to go to school, find out what their reasons are. Then review together and highlight the good things you can find and achieve in class.

• It is important that the child perceives the school as a pleasant place. Talk about friends, teachers, recreation and the things you learned during the day. In this way, the child will feel interested in sharing their positive experiences.

• Sow thanks in your son. Encourage him to collaborate in the improvements of his school and collaborate as well. That a school is a special place.

• Provide utensils and uniforms that are comfortable and pleasant (not expensive), well groomed and beautiful.

• Encourage him to do his homework and congratulate him on his achievements.

• If your child has difficulties, sit down with him and review the actions and results together. Stimulate it to want to improve your jobs.

• Do not pursue it to study. Invite him to investigate, ask him to learn and verify his knowledge, beliefs, and opinions in relation to specific topics.

• Provide a picture of the school and the activities it does as fun, even exams can be perceived as a positive experience (as a way to evaluate what you have learned, as an opportunity to get a good grade).

• Show them the relationship between going to school today and what they want for the future, talking about their goals and establishing a clear and simple relationship. For example: "You want to be a doctor and doctors know a lot about the circulatory system".

A child with a high self-confidence (high self-esteem) will have greater possibilities to overcome the difficulties that are presented, you can experience its positive effects: confidence, encouragement, interest and the pleasure of learning and making dreams come true.

As parents, we must contribute to the child having a good development of self-esteem and a lot of confidence in himself and in his possibilities.
