Arithmetic Trick: Looking for Pairs of Numbers That Amount of 10 First
Hello all steemian friends, in this occasion I will share another interesting basic trick of arithmetic, especially for students who want to master arithmetic. This trick is named as Looking for pairs of numbers that amount of 10 first.
You and your family are visiting an educational exhibition. And there's a playground, then you'll ride a merry-go-round. In the merry-go-round, there are 6 horses, 4 camels, 7 snakes and 3 elephants. In a single round, how many people can ride the merry-go-round? To find out the answer, we must do the sum of 6 + 4 + 7 + 3.
Here's the ways!
When summing up, consider the combined number of 10 even if it does not match the order. The numbers that amount 10 can facilitate and accelerate you solve these problems. The following pairs of numbers 10 are: 1 + 9, 2 + 8, 3 + 7, 4 + 6 and 5 + 5. Let's try to answer the question on the playback game above!
Let's try with another example!
Always remember! There are lots of moves to add up by finding the pairs of numbers that amount of 10 first, like the example above. You can also do so by noticing first that 9 + 1 equals 10, exactly as if you were paying attention to 8 + 2. Then, you should think "10,20,24". Number 4 is added last. Do not jump too much from one number to another because you will forget and lose a single digit in your count.
