Karma is a Buddhist and Hindustan belief, and is said to decide the fate of your next life or reincarnation. Most people interpret it as some sort of reward or punishment to your previous actions, e.g. if you're deeds are good, you'll get good karma and bad karma for bad or evil deeds.

Do you believed in karma?

To me karma is...

Karma is, when you slipped on a banana feel that you ignored on the floor

Karma is, when you hit your little toe on the table's leg you kicked earlier.

Karma is, when you wake up with a massive hangover, after drinking too much at a party.

Karma is, when you lose to your nephew at chess ten times in a row after winning just once, and rubbing it at his face.

Karma is, when you step on dog poop, while walking and texting.

Karma is, when you try to wash the same dog poop off your shoe, in a public toilet, only to see the faucet broken.

Karma is, when you're mom caught you watching porn on your computer.

Karma is when you purposely replaces sugar with salt to prank your roommate, only to use the same salt the next morning on your coffee due to forgetfulness.

Karma is, when the domino puzzle you are building for almost two hours collapses, after refusing let your nephew play with it.

Karma is, when you fall of a "carabao" after, boasting to your cousins and their friends that you can ride it.

Karma is, when you drunk to much "lambanog" only to have horrible diarrhea the next day.

Karma is, when you decide to spend Christmas at your grandparent's home that you haven't visit for over a decade, only to find out that you have eight "inaanak" you aren't aware of.

Karma is, when you found out to your bedazzlement and horror that it was your mom's "genius" idea to make you, the "ninong" of your relative's children in that village.

Karma is, when your mom didn't even bother mentioning it you, just because you always refuses to take an "inaanak" at home ( thanks a lot mom ).

Karma is, when you have spend all of your Christmas bonus on your eight "inaanak" because you failed to give them Christmas presents all those years.

So what is karma to you?

Below are the Tagalog words used in this article along with their definitions

Carabao/Kalabaw: commonly known as water buffalo, a popular beast of burden in Southeast Asia which includes the Philippines.

Lambanog: an alcoholic beverage made from fermented coconut sap, a popular drink in the Visayas and Mindanao islands, and is gaining popularity in the Luzon islands in recent years ( Luzon, Visaya, and Mindanao are the three main region in the Philippines, which is consist of a group of islands, 7,641 in total ). It is also being exported abroad. People who are not used to drinking this beverage often suffers from upset stomachs if they consume a large quantity of it.

Inaanak: It's a Tagalog word that means godchild in English. It's a tradition that had survived since the Spanish colonization era. A person can have as many godchildren as he or she wants, as long as the person, or the family of that person agrees to be the godparent of the child. He or she needs to be physically present during the child's baptism ceremony to be officially made a godparent, in the case of the persons absence, the family of the person needs to provide a proxy ( is it me or is this starting to sound like a legal document? ).

Ninong: It's a Tagalog word that means godfather in English, "ninang" or godmother is it's female counterpart. Procedure to become a godparent is already explained above ( too lazy to even copy ).

On the side note, Filipinos take the tradition of god-parenting seriously, despite the lack of legal documentation, that binds them to this responsibility. Sometimes showing more affection and generosity than the actual parents.

Disclamer: This is based on a true story, "cough" mine "cough".

*The order that the event occur is completely random, with the exception of the last six of which happens two weeks before Christmas.
