Teaching Is Not Limited To Achieving The Goals Of The Education Curriculum [BILLINGUAL]

An education system that does not have a concept will result in not achieving the goals of education. So far my understanding of education is very important. I have not been able to be professionally able to view the current education curriculum.

From several articles I have read, I have always understood that the principle of learning is gradual. That is, students must understand what is being learned, then the students are directed to the next stage. So that, education does not only reflect the direction of the curriculum concept. But the principle we must bring is how students can understand what they are learning.

The desire to achieve the target of the syllabus, often makes students do not master the subjects taught by the teacher. The education system must have a concept that must be achieved. However, if the concept is not in line with what happens in the classroom, some students become victims of ignorance. Because things that often happen and that we have ever felt are the leaps from the subject matter.

Such events will certainly have a negative impact on students. The learning process should be done in stages. For example to master about division, students must first learn about addition, subtraction and multiplication. The teacher's lack of achievement in giving explanations to students is evidence of the teacher's inadequacy in managing the learning system.

I once quoted a sentence from Hasanudin Abdurakhman. He is one of the authors in Kompas.com. In an article describing education, there is an interesting sentence for us to understand together.

"The teacher is king in his class ..." (Hasanudin Abdurakhman)


The sentence above certainly implies a fairly deep meaning. We must understand, that the main task of a teacher is to provide knowledge to his students. So the teacher does not just explain the material that is subject to the syllabus and curriculum. The curriculum and syllabus are only as guidelines for achieving certain goals. Even so, the things we need to understand the most are not to make the curriculum a limitation, so that we fail to explain the lesson to students.

Thus the most important thing is the achievement of students' ability to understand the contents of the lesson. There are many students in the classroom. Teachers must be able to understand them thoroughly. Teaching is not only guided by the curriculum. Because the curriculum is not necessarily able to overcome all the problems that occur in the classroom.

There are many characters of students who have different intellectual qualities. Iq students are not all the same. If the teacher teaches only wants to reach the target, then this will have a bad impact. Some students whose IQ is low will be left behind. Finally stupidity is getting worse.

There are many perspectives that we must understand about how to realize the right education system. Because basically education is not just teaching science. Being a teacher, of course, we must master all aspects. The teacher must master the character of the student, the teacher must master the lesson, and the teacher must be able to master the way to teach the lesson.

In the nature of science , science is born and wake up with a scientific system. However, in practice rarely does the teacher apply this concept. I learned from this activity that I visited several schools during the service period. The perpetrators of education tend to fail in applying scientific concepts. Though the application of the scientific method is the forerunner of how to build knowledge.

The stages that are built from the scientific method are a way to foster a way of thinking. In this case the teacher must build a truly mature concept. The concept is not merely to achieve the target of the curriculum.

Learning from my experience teaching the eyes of Scout extracurricular learning and teaching mathematics during dedication, there are many facts found in the field. Not all students are able to understand subjects. So there is a need for special attention to build students' way of thinking. Finally, the most important thing is how we are able to build good interactions to create intelligent students.

Sistem pendidikan yang tidak berkonsep akan mengakibatkan tidak tercapainya tujuan dari pendidikan. Sejauh ini pemahaman saya tentang pendidikan adalah sesuatu hal yang sangat penting. Saya belum mampu secara profesional untuk menilik kurokulum pendidikan yang diterapkan saat ini.

Dari beberapa artikel yang pernah saya baca, sejak dulu saya memahami bahwa prinsip belajar adalah secara bertahap. Artinya, siswa harus memahami suatu yang sedang dipelajari, selanjutnya barulah siswa di arahkan ke tahap selanjutnya. Sehingga dengan demikian, pendidikan tidak hanya menilik kepada arah tujuan dari konsep kurikulum. Akan tetapi prinsip yang harus kita bawa adalah bagaimana siswa bisa memahami tentang apa yang sedang mereka pelajari.

Keinginan untuk mencapai target dari silabus, sering kali membuat siswa tidak mengusai mata pelajaran yang di ajarkan oleh guru. Sistem pendidikan memang harus memiliki suatu konsep yang harus di capai. Akan tetapi bila konsep itu tidak sejalan dengan apa yang terjadi di ruang kelas membuat beberapa siswa menjadi korban dari kebodohan. Karena hal yang sering terjadi dan itu pernah kita rasakan adalah adanya lompatan dari materi pelajaran.

Kejadian seperti itu tentu akan memberi dampak buruk kepada siswa. Proses belajar hendaknya dilakukan secara bertahap. Misalnya untuk menguasai tentang pembagian, siswa harus terlebih dahulu belajar tentang penjumlahan, pengurangan dan perkalian. Ketidak capaiannya guru dalam memberikan penjelasan kepada siswa adalah bukti dari ketidak cakapan guru dalam mengusai sistem pembelajaran.

Saya pernah mengutip sebuah kalimat dari karangan Hasanudin Abdurakhman. Beliau merupakan salah satu penulis di media Kompas.com. Dalam sebuah tulisannya yang menjelaskan tentang pendidikan, ada kalimat yang menarik untuk kita pahami bersama.

"Guru adalah raja di kelasnya..." (Hasanudin Abdurakhman)


Kalimat di atas tentu saja menyirat makna yang cukup dalam. Kita harus memahami, bahwa tugas utama dari seorang guru adalah memberikan pengetahuan kepada muridnya. Sehingga guru tidak hanya sekedar menjelaskan materi yang tunduk kepada silabus dan kurikulum. Kurikulum dan silabus hanya bersifat sebagai pedoman saja untuk mencapai tujuan tertentu. Meskipun demikian, hal yang paling perlu kita pahami bahwa jangan menjadikan kurikulum sebagai batasan, sehingga kita gagal menjelaskan pelajaran kepada siswa.

Dengan demikian hal yang paling penting adalah tercapainya kemampuan siswa untuk memahami isi dari pelajaran. Ada banyak kiteria murid di ruang kelas. Guru harus bisa memahami mereka secara menyeluruh. Mengajar tidak hanya berpedoman kepada kurikulum. Karena kurikulum belum tentu mampu mengatasi semua masalah yang terjadi di ruang kelas.

Ada banyak karakter siswa yang memiliki kualitas intelektual yang berbeda-beda. Iq siswa tidak semuanya sama. Jika guru mengajar hanya ingin mencapai target, maka hal ini akan memberikan dampak yang buruk. Beberapa siswa yang IQ mereka rendah akan tertinggal. Akhirnya kebodohan semakin menjadi-jadi.

Ada banyak perspektif yang harus kita pahami tentang bagaimana mewujudkan sistem pendidikan yang benar. Karena pada dasarnya pendidikan bukan hanya sekedar mengajarkan ilmu pengetahuan. Menjadi seoranf guru tentu saja kita harus menguasai segala aspek. Guru harus menguasi karakter siswa, guru harus menguasai pelajaran, dan guru harus mampu menguasai cara mengajarkan pelajaran itu.

Dalam hakikat ilmu pengetahuan, ilmu pengetahuan itu lahir dan di bangun dengan sistem yang ilmiah. Namun, pada prakteknya jarang kali guru menerapkan konsep yang seperti ini. Hal ini saya ketahui dari aktivitas saya mengunjungi beberapa sekolah saat masa pengabdian. Para pelaku dunia pendidikan cenderung gagal dalam menerapkan konsep ilmiah. Padahal penerapan metode ilmiah adalah cikal bakal dari cara membangun ilmu pengetahuan.

Tahapan yang di bangun dari metode ilmiah adalah suatu cara untuk menumbuhkan cara berpikir. Dalam hal ini guru haru membangun konsep yang benar-benar matang. Konsep itu tidak hanya semata-mata mencapai target dari kurikulum.

Belajar dari pengalaman saya mengajar mata prlajaran ekstrakulikuler Pramuka dan mengajar matematika selama pengabdian, ada banyak fakta yang ditemukan di lapangan. Tidak semua siswa mampu memahami mata pelajaran. Sehingga perlunya perhatian khusus untuk membangun cara berpikir para siswa. Akhirnya hal yang paling penting adalah bagaimana kita mampu membangun interaksi yang baik untuk menciptakan peserta didik yang cerdas.

I believe education is like a building, you must have a solid foundation to be able to build on top of it.

The way I see education is that it should be a stack of skills. As you mention, you learn addition, substraction and multiplication before you go into division.

There're so many things in life you can't do without knowing some foundational stuff first :)

That's right and I agree what you say....

The problem is that many teaching staff ignore all that. They tend to pursue the target of the curriculum. They do not fully develop concepts that are truly based on science.

Yeah exactly. I remember the best teachers I had went out of the given curriculum because there were key concepts we need to know :)
