When I say this to others, some people retort with

“I listened to my inner voice and it was wrong!”

It’s good to remember that sometimes our inner voice will guide us to a choice that appears a mistake. Only because our inner voice — the voice of our Embodied-Unconscious Mind — can only work with the data it has collected.

Sometimes mistakes are exactly what we need to experience, so that we can learn; so that the data is stored in the Embodied-Unconscious Mind for use at a later time.
