Garry Winogrand - Photographer's weekly dedication by @otsouvalas #3
Hello Steemians!
My name is Odysseas Tsouvalas and I am Photographer.
First of all I want to say sorry for my offline status, but I was sick and had no energy to make what I love.
This is photography. This is me.
My dedication for this week will be for one street photographer.
What is the difference from his work? Easy to see it.
Spontaneity and Crooked Horizon lines in street photography
He was one of my first dedications when I decide to follow photography, and be a real photographer when my teacher asked me "You want to be a photographer. What else will you make from other people who have a photo camera and shoot ?" The answer was not easy. If you believe it is, I am waiting for your answers as replies.
And to make it greater, the best answer will win 5 SBD from me.

"When I’m photographing I see life. That’s what I deal with,”
Those words reveal his passion for photography. His life was photography, and his photography IS life. His passion though, was for his problem, because his days till the end of his life was nothing more than walk to the street's of America, and photoshoot everything. Where is the problem with that? He died untimely, in 1984 and left behind no less of 6500 rolls of unprocessed film!!!
“often worked in a headlong way, preferring to spend another day shooting rather than processing his film or editing his pictures” Leo Rubinfien, curator
This is for me what I call street photography. No matter how many times you spend, how many shoes you will throw, how many films will you spend (today, thanks to technology we have cards with a MUCH bigger number of shots), there will always be a new frame at the street. The problem here is, that today, because of technology reveals to us the easy road, we forgot how to work hard, and study, to be able to call ourselves "professionals". In art too.
For Garry Winogrand, life was the energy of the street in all its unruly momentum. His photos reveal the daily life in New York City and America from the 50s to the early 80.
From his first frames, he shows us what will come later. And this was easy to be understood from his objects too. Awkward Expressions are the main part of his photos and it's visible everywhere.
The funny part of this is that there were not only people who disturbed from his tact, but there were animals too.
He wanted everyone to know that he was photo shooting them.
Something more about Winogrand's photos is the Horizon. He shoots with Crooked Horizon, and the reason is simple. He wanted to reveal it's true position. The street, the moves, the life...
“I look at the pictures I have done up to now, and they make me feel that who we are and what we feel and what is to become of us just doesn’t matter. Our aspirations and successes have become cheap and petty. I read the newspapers, the columnists, some books, I look at the magazines (our press). They all deal in illusions and fantasies. I can only conclude that we have lost ourselves and that the bomb may finish the job permanently, and it just doesn’t matter, we have not loved life. I cannot accept my conclusions, and so I must continue this photographic investigation further and deeper. –Garry Winogrand, from The Man in the Crowd.
Those were some of his words about his work. He didn't want to be different, but he wanted to show us the true meaning of life. Something that we forgot, and year by year, we will forget more parts of it, till the end, we sall forget to leave.

I think everyone who wants to be a photographer, professional or not, worth to spend some time and watch this.

And don't forget to leave your answer of this question.
If you think your photos have something special, what is it? You can attach a photo too if you want to show us too. The best answer will win 5 SBD from me.
Light capturing is not so simple.
It has the basic position in our lives from the beginning of life. Most common theories reveal their secrets within the light. Like Big Bang.
Many Great painters worked their arts trying to emulate lights and their play with the objects.
My son, you have great talent capturing the light and many of its details.
I am happy because you made me proud when you publish each of your work, no matter if they are filled after with comments or not.
"There is no comment better than a trapped mind"
This is one of your best phrases :)
For me, photography is part of my life, but not like yours. It helps me not to forget memories. Good spots in time, best parts of my life. And partners when I feel lonely.
You make me proud. Keep your good work.
Moments of pure happiness. The perfect shot. The perfect timing. Just be yourself. A photograph can hold a image but it can express so many feelings and memories..
And... This is the main reason for me to be photographer. Respect bro
Congratulations this is the winning comment. There are 2 reasons. First is your reply... Those words are somehow those were my first thoughts about the world of photography.
Second, is the photograph. I know how hard is to be strong and powerfull to be able to hold a beauty.
You are the one who introduced me to photography and from then on I have come to realize that the reality of photography is sometimes more real than the real reality. I was always amazed how you always capture the humanity of each moment. To answer your question.... I would like to say that considering the fact that the basic materials of photography itself are light and time, I would take pictures because I like the fact that photographs never change, even though the people in it do change a lot through time.
I like to reveal the world of photography to anyone no matter if he want to be a photographer or he want just to say that he made some lessons just to understand what is photography.
Many people last few years trying to studdy photography, and why not? But. First of all, did they answered this question for them? It is great to learn new staff. And photography, because of it has not clearly rules, you are free to make anything. But, is this photography? Is this the real meaning of capturing the light? Paint with your senses composing the colors? Reveal your real thoughts and promote them correctly?
You know sometimes I am "bad guy" because I see something I dont like in a photo. If you search your photos from the beginning till now you will understand yourself the reason. :)
This is photography.
If I had a camera I would use it to capture and expose all those irresponsible drivers who park their cars over the ramps that are used for disabled. Hoping that with my photos I would make life easier for people like me.
Anna, you know that you are special and not disabled. Disabled are those idiots who believe that they can put their car wherever they want, those who believe that elevators are most for those chicken wearing glory divas who can not walk because they have eiffel tower for shoes. I love walking alone the roads and be one with every person who is homeless. And this because I want not to forget how they live and what are their real problems. Hope my next excibition reveal my thoughts and yours too.
Photography is something I always have wanted to master.
One day when I manage to get myself a godo camera I will start taking good pics.
Cheers mate.
There is no need of good camera to claim good photo.
