I read through this post thinking ooh and ahh and I never realized that. Then I finished and realized I still don't understand how rep works here =-O Oh well. I won't let that stop me from creating the best content I can.

haha, I totally understand that. In short each person gets a number rewardshare for the value of curation they make off your post, that is added to your rep number or minus'ed if its a downvote.
Never stop making great content :)
