No, he didn’t, and it wasn’t discovered in 1492. No one knows who was the first, but he found America thousands of years before Columbus was born, and probably looked like this:

Columbus was not even the first European in America. That’s probably Leif Erikson, a viking explorer who established a settlement in Canada around the year 1000.

3 - Christopher Columbus wanted to prove the Earth is round.

This was common knowledge among sailors. People knew this fact since antiquity.

4 - The Holocaust only killed 6 millions.

The number of Jews is 5,93 millions. The total number is between 10 and 12 millions.

5 - Science and religion can “walk together”.

No. Science searches explanations, while religion denies science and invents explanations. And, no, “theistic evolutionism” is not science.

6 - Evolution is “just a theory”.

“Theory” does not mean “hypothesis” or “belief”. There’s no “Flat Earth theory” or “theory of creationism”.

7 - The Brazilian monarchy was abolished because the people rebelled against it.

It came to an end because of a coup d’état made by the military and supported by the Church and slave masters who didn’t want slavery to be abolished. And the first post-monarchy government was a military dictatorship, the “Sword Republic”.

8 - The Paraguayan War happened because the British didn’t like the fact that Paraguay was growing without their intervention.

It happened because a Napoleon wannabe called Solano López wanted Paraguay to have more territory and started to invade other countries.

9 - Dinosaurs were reptiles and they all got extinct 65 million years ago.

Including Dinosauria in the class Reptilia is a fact that most paleontologists disagree with. Dinosaurs and pterosaurs were much closer to birds than to any true reptile. And birds are dinosaurs. This means not every dinosaur got extinct in the end of the Cretaceous period.

In this case, “state” means “an area with the approximate size of the State of São Paulo”.
