Reading Log #7
This is my report for what I read since my last report.
Book: The Handmaid's Tale
Author: Margaret Atwood
Pages: Middle - Ending
I am happy to read the end of this book, now I know that anything else that HULU might come up with is pure show loosely based on the book and not actual events from the book.
I felt a sense of relief and possibilities of Happy Endings when I finished it, but then I realized that it was purely based on my want for happy stories. And probably because the Main Character, if saved was saved by the dystopian description of a Knight in Shining Armor. Strong, muscular, tanned, quiet, makes you feel human, gives you the inability to care that everything around you sucks because he is so dreamy, and then, of course, The Savior.
Of course, the author tried to fix her "knight in shining armor" ending by adding some commentary at the end that explained how it was that we got to hear this story, and where the story came from. We don't know what really happened and we can't really confirm anything, and the end-pages added nothing really to the story, except excused the writer for her Fairy Tale like ending stumble.
That was my reading log/response to The Handmaid's Tale. I hope to start reading something new and interesting today. It seems that if I make it a habit to read every day, I will be going through my book list fairly fast, so if you have any recommendations for me, please let me know!
This is my attempt to tokenize reading. Liquid rewards will be cashed out and spent on books. $0.469 SBD has been accumulated so far
