WHAT IS A PERIMETER?

Today we are going to do the perimeter of an object.

We always think it is difficult but if we know how to work out the sides of a perimeter we will see that we can stretch it out to become one long line.

It is actually fun to do and really not difficult.

The video explain this so nice that I do not think anyone will have a problem doing them.

The reason it is so easy is that it is just a adding maths problem.

All we have to do is add the length of each side and you will have the perimeter of the object.

Today we are only doing the perimeter of straight lines so enjoy yourself and just add.

Lets face the fact that this man really knows how to make maths easy.

He even shows us how to add a side that we do not have the length of and how to work it out.

Draw your own unit and see if you can work it out. This is fun and we can really find we can straighten out the length of the perimeter.

Start by drawing you own form with right lines and give yourself some lengths that you can work out what the other lengths are.

These are so easy and you can have a lot of fun with them.
