Happy are we, your beloved sons and daughters
Who freely fly and dwell on your trees.
For how long can we possibly enjoy this sheltered life that you offer?
Where everything we might need is given to us for free.
Your clear rivers and oceans, your lively lakes and reefs
Provides us our daily food, such convenient places to live
How we wish that our homes – which all of us have loved and cherished --
Will remain blue and clear, a refreshing fortress indeed.
We thank you for giving us the land where we have peacefully lived,
And it had always been a pleasure to be of service to those in need.
We’ll take care of your lands and provide a cozy shade,
In hopes that before we die, our replacements had been made.
We couldn’t have been more blessed for having you as our protector,
Our families have lived in your abundant forests, and have enjoyed its splendor
Longer than our paws are to rest on your damp, solid ground
We will be grateful for your generosity that doesn’t know no bounds.
Mother Earth, oh, Mother Earth, you love us so much
You have given us many things even when we did not ask.
We promise not to make you either mad or sad
We will give you happiness, for you deserve our care and love.
And in behalf of all the living creatures that you have selflessly nurtured,
I thank you for the gifts that you’ve given us in our daily endeavors.
I hope to bring you joy, and to never disappoint you
I promise to honor you in everything that I do.
