Russian verb conjugation / ИДТИ, ЕХАТЬ

Hey guys!

The verbs of today are a little unusual, to understand them you'll need to get familiar with Russian logic of motion.
In English you can GO anywhere: go home, go to Mars, go by car, by trian, by plane or on foot. I mean for all these situations you would use one verb "to go". It's not the same in the Russian language. We sensitively separate moving on foot from moving using a transport (as well as different kinds of transport have their own "go-verbs")
Forgot to mention, or just wasn't sure wether I should or not to not scare you out )) that motion verbs go in pairs (one verb is used for motion in one direction, and another one for round trips or wandering around without any direction or destination). If you're not scared, you may continue reading.

Today we will look at two verbs: ИДТИ (to go on foot in one direction) and ЕХАТЬ (to go in one direction using any overland transport), they have similar conjugation patterns and are both related to motion.

ИДТИ (to go on foot)

Я иду (on foot!) - I'm going / I go;
Ты идёшь - you're going / you go (informal);
Он (она) идёт / he (she) is going / he (she) goes;
Они идут / they are going / they go;
Мы идём / we're going / we go;
Вы идёте / You're going / you go (polite or plural).

ЕХАТЬ (to go using transport)

Я еду / I'm going / I go;
Ты едешь / You're going / you go;
Он/она едет / he (she) is going / he (she) goes;
Они едут / They are going / they go;
Мы едем / We are going / we go;
Вы едете / You are going / you go (polite or plural)

See you!
