When you use acronyms involving tech or science, it is a good idea to expand them. In the U.S. and Canada these are called "Smart Phones" or "Cell Phones."(CPs). Once you have your acronym expanded previously you can use them, over and over. I know in other countries these are called "Hand Phones" only because I used to live in Asia.
