RE: Do Statistics Help You Lose Weight?

in #steemiteducation7 years ago

I agree with you on statistics. Helping someone find why THEY want to lose weight is a better strategy. And to be healthier often isn't as motivating as something they can get excited about. Like buying clothes from a regular store, or being able to play with their grandkids. So I'm with you!

I work more with people with allergies. I get them to keep a combined food diary and symptom log, and by the time they bring it to me, they've already seen some of the problems for them selves. Although it can be tedious, a food diary is a very powerful tool.

I'm working on something like this and it has been too long in the process. I'm going for a 30 day log of food, feelings, goals, activities, etc. One page per day and a weekly wrap up. A bit at the front about how you want the month to go and a concluding section at the end with a look back and goals.

I'm so glad this works for your people. The tedious aspect is why I haven't pushed this, but I know if I can publish it on amazon, it will sell and help people. And maybe even get them into my coaching or other books.

I once had a lady tell me she was not giving me her first log of a few days because there was too much fast food on it. The second one she did give me still had take-out for breakfast, but she did better the rest of each day. It's all baby steps in the game.

It's moving up on my ToDo list to get this monthly log done, so thank you!
