I know it is horrible to experience especially for the parent who has to watch their child suffer. It sounds terrible and the child has difficulty because of the narrowing of the vocal cords (larynx), windpipe (trachea) and bronchial tubes. Unfortunately because it is a virus there is no antibiotic that can help. You just have to let the disease run its course. I hop you child is doing much better by now.
