Be The Parent That Your Child Needs You To Be

Children are the future, they are the generation that we need to set the example for. We do not raise our youth by habit or send them to school because we have to. We do this because we are responsible for caring for our younger generations, it is up to us adults to rear them so that they have a positive impact on the world we live in.
In my country, Indonesia, and especially in Aceh, many parents have misunderstood the “obligation” it takes to educate and raise a child. They often think that the task in educating and raising a child is short lived and ends once they send them to primary school. These parents have the opinion that once a child is in school, it is up to the educators to not only educate them, but to raise them too. This is an incorrect viewpoint of what schooling is about,,!!
So many parents are also prone to take shortcuts in their child’s education and upbringing, like by putting their children into dorms and boarding schools, where there is no feel for family living and parents have no responsibilities.
At some point, such situations are very likely to have a negative impact on the children.
The most important lesson that can determine the future of a child can only come from their respective parents or guardians. It is the positive touch and affection of the parents that goes beyond what a formal education can offer and is the most vital part in raising good future leaders of the world.
The love and touch that comes from parents can do wonders for a little soul. Even before a child is born, it thrives in the womb of a mother who cares for it.
_ What is planted then that will grow._ These words are often repeated by wise people and for me this has become the basic foundation in educating a child.
My message to you is to ignite your child’s senses. Listen to them, sing to them, spend time with them! This is what a child needs to learn and grow and it is something that can only be given by a mother and father or a very close relative.
Hug your child with all of the love you have to give, because that's all that every kid in the world wants.
