Lesson#1 based on TED talks by ELIZABETH GILBERT
ELIZABETH GILBERT: Success, failure and the drive to keep creating {7:14}
I like to make my texts colorful, so I created a pdf file which I used later for making scan pictures :).
You should watch the video without subtitles.
Questions:
➢ What were the two old ladies talking about in the airport?
➢ What were Elizabeth’s thoughts about her book and her next book which she intends to write?
➢ What was the only thing that Elizabeth has always wanted to be? How did she push through it? What does she assosiate writing with?
➢ What does she say about failure? How does our subconscious descend the difference between good and bad?
➢ What does Elizabeth mean by “your home”? Why coming back “home” is so important according to Elizabeth?
➢ Can we call addiction and infatuation our “home”? Why? How can you come back ‘home’?
4. Now watch the video again and follow the text below:
- Learn the words with flashcards and then with the exercise.
P.S. If your native language is not Russian (mine is) just use my flashcards and the following dictionary to create your own ones.
