Lately, fish prices in traditional markets have risen sharply in the past few months. This is influenced by the increasing demand of fish in overseas markets, extreme weather that prevents fishermen from going to sea and fish populations that tend to decline.
Indonesia is one of the countries with the largest marine products. This is influenced by the extent of coral reefs as a natural habitat of fish in the sea. Coral reefs in Indonesia reach almost 20% of the world's coral reefs.
But now the number decreased drastically along with the rampant bombing of fish conducted by unscrupulous fishermen. Reduced coral reefs have a very significant effect on fish populations.
We hope that the fish bombers are aware that what they are doing is wrong and disturbing their own livelihood. Because the damaged coral reefs will not grow back easily. For the size of 1m2 it takes 100 years to rehabilitate.

Akhir akhir ini harga ikan di pasar tradisional meningkat tajam di banding beberapa bulan sebelumnya. Hal ini dipengaruhi oleh meningkatnya permintaan ikan di pasar luar negeri, cuaca ekstrim yang menghalangi nelayan untuk melaut serta populasi ikan yang cenderung menurun.
Indonesia adalah salah satu negara dengan hasil laut terbesar. Hal ini dipengaruhi oleh luasnya terumbu karang sebagai habitat alami ikan di laut. Terumbu karang di Indonesia hampir mencapai 20% terumbu karang dunia.
Namun kini jumlahnya menurun drastis seiring maraknya pemboman ikan yang dilakukan oleh oknum nelayan. Berkurangnya terumbu karang pengaruhnya sangat signifikan bagi populasi ikan.
Kita berharap semoga para pelaku pengeboman ikan sadar bahwa yang mereka lakukan salah dan mengganggu mata pencarian mereka sendiri. Karena terumbu karang yang rusak tidak akan mudah tumbuh kembali. Untuk ukuran 1m2 saja butuh waktu 100 tahun untuk merehabilitasinya.
