Simon is a jumping spider that has eight hairy legs that look like pipe cleaners, four eyes, and two bright blue pinchers.

He can jump as high as a grasshopper and is about the size of a strawberry. His stomach made a huge rumble. He was hungry.

Simon is on a mission to find the perfect spot to build his web.

He looks up with his four eyes and sees a tree next to a house. He tries climbing up the trunk, but he keeps falling because it is too steep. He tries jumping, but it is way too high.

He isn’t going to give up because he is patient. He knows he will eventually get up there.

He is crawling up a water spout, but it starts to rain. The rain comes down and washes the spider out.

He wears a raindrop as a hat and tries again, but it is no use because it is still raining. So, he camps out near the tree and uses a fallen leaf for coverage.

He waits patiently all night, so he could have a meal.

By the next day, the sun has dried up all the rain and Simon crawls through the pipe like a dark tunnel. He reaches the top of the gutter and slowly approaches the edge of the roof.

The spot that he wants is in view, and he jumps onto one of the tree branches. He starts to spin his web. He jumps from one branch to the next, back and forth.

He could start to connect the strings of silk, going around and around until it is perfect for catching bugs when the web is sturdy.

His web is finally constructed and now he waits for lunch. He patiently sits on his silk web, waiting for a bug to fly into it like a net. The web vibrates, and he opens all of his eyelids as he fills with glee, only to be disappointed that it is a false alarm. He was tricked by the wind blowing his web.

He decides to leave his eyes open this time as he patiently sits on his web. It vibrates, and again it was a false alarm; it was just a leaf that fell from above.

His web vibrates for the third time and it is the real deal. A fly gets stuck on the sticky strings, but again the fly was moving too much, so he could not have lunch just yet.

He spins more silk around the fly, wrapping him up like a mummy. Simon covers every inch of the fly, making it impossible for him to break free and stay still.

After all that waiting Simon finally has the chance to feed his rumbling stomach.

His waiting and hard work pay off; he finally is able to soothe his stomach as he eats his lunch.

Good things come to those who wait. If he wasn’t patient on getting the perfect spot, then he would have never gotten to eat his meal.

The End

Patiently waiting for the perfect time would never fails us for what we are aiming for. Patience is a virtue .

Like the popular saying, " The patient dog eats the fattest bone." That is a great
quality on the part of simon, he was able to achieve this because of the discipline he has inculcated in himself. Thanks @hopehuggs for the post, we are greatful

What a great story! I never really thought of spiders as patient, because every time I see them scurrying about. I guess they are just looking for the perfect place to spin their web.

Wow this is what i keep on saying patience will pays you.

wow that's very interesting story and the way you explained it really amazing :)

Nice story thanks for sharing this is a gem of a post

And while waiting, we always have to keep trying. Disappointment can be discouraging, but the feeling of regretting about never keep on trying always weighs more.

There are factors that dictate how much time it takes to achieve what we want. Sometime is fast and other time is a slow process. But that's something that is not under our control. So there's no point to dwell on that. So the essential thing to do is taking continuous action to eventually have results.

patience is the key to success

Another excellent story with a lesson for all children. You really should consider writing a book of children's stories and offering it for sale on sites such as Amazon.

There is a saying in my country: "Patience is gold". What a lovely story, I felt like a child for a moment and this is the cutest thing I've read all day! Thank you for sharing, may Universe bless you.
