BRAILLE METHOD '' DO NOT LOOK FOR ME, TEACH ME TO SEE ''

in #steemiteducation6 years ago

Hello friends @steemiteducation in this installment I will talk about a great community that is close to my work, it is a place where the desire to learn in each student is more awake than ever, where children and adults are helped to see the life through their hands. A place where they are taught to persist in a more enlightened world even if they have their eyes closed.

This is the Anzoategui Comprehensive Care Center for visual deficiencies (CAIDVA). Who opened its doors in 1997, is located in Barcelona capital of our State, and every day from 7:00 am opens its doors to receive its students, both children and adults, with visual impairment. It should be noted that they do not function as a school but rather as a support center.

This institution has a highly trained dosent staff to teach them Braille literacy, which is more than orientation and mobility to help them integrate more easily into our society. This team of teachers have a lot of vocation and love for their work, and each day they teach to read, mathematics, to differentiate colors, everything through their hands. But not only children born with this difficulty of vision are cared for in this place, but also the development and mobility program works, which is nothing more than a program to help people who lose or have vision problems when they arrive the adult age, since many when losing the vision usually lock themselves, so little by little they are helping it to unfold and to walk directed by the cane.

Then I will talk a little about this method called Lectoescritura Braille:

The braille system is defined as tactile reading and writing created for people with visual disabilities. It is also known as cecography. It was an idea that the Frenchman Louis Braille managed to achieve in the mid-nineteenth century, when he became blind due to an accident during his childhood while playing in his father's workshop. That is why this system carries his surname as his name.

How does this system called Braille work:

Being blind people they feel deprived of knowing the information of the daily news, and the things that happen daily in the world. That is why this system offers them what they can read through their touch. And it is by the touch of each one that they manage to read through a surface full of points to the relief that describes each letter of the alphabet, thus helping blind people.

One of the goals of this institution is the integration of people into the labor field, that is why every day they continue working, using tools that help these people grow as citizens, to develop and to integrate every day in society.

Every day we learn something new, in my spare time, I see how people climb up and down stairs, how they walk on the roads and gardens, training, and telling each other every day that if they can, that if they do. I say goodbye hoping you liked it like me this small but interesting place.
