EDUCATION: Outcomes Based Education

So today, I gonna share you what I had learned in my Principles of Teaching II. I believe that this one of the basis for licensure examination for teachers. So, I wanna share this to you as a concern steemnians.

• What is an outcome?

Outcomes
Clear learning results that learners have to demonstrate at the end of significant learning experiences: what learners can actually do with that they know and have learned (Butler,1999).

"Actions, products, performances that embody and reflect a learner's competence in using the content, information, ideas and tools successfully"(Geyser,1999).

Culminating demonstration of learning, not curriculum content (Spady,1994).

Those meanings of different professional persons they come out of one important thought the ABILITY=SKILLS.

Classification of Outcome

Exit Outcomes- Big outcome/ General Objectives.
To apply the principles of teaching science with the appropriate method in a demonstration teaching.
In this outcome you need to expect that your outcome is big. For example, if you will teach Araling Panlipunan you need to think what method are you going to use to have a big outcome at the end of discussion.

• Enabling Outcomes- Small Outcomes/ Specific Objectives.
  To apply the principles of teaching Science in a role play.
  In this outcome you need to come out a small one. For example, you will conduct a role play. You need to have objectives in order to demonstrate teaching method in teaching.

  a- audience
  b- behavior
  c- condition/content
  d- degree
  Under of degree there is individual degree and class degree.

As a teacher, you will not only aim that your students can be able to understand your lesson well but also evaluate them by giving projects. In that condition, you can able to know if there knowledge can be applied in all situations. In that case, your students can be able to know what they have and what they need to improve. Skills is important so train your students and get to know their skills and develop it.
