How to teach environmental education to children?

In today's complex, diverse, dynamic and contradictory world, environmental problems have acquired a global dimension. The basis for the development of humanity should be the community of man and nature. Everyone should understand that only in a harmonious coexistence with nature is it possible to further develop our society.

A person needs new knowledge, a new value system, which, of course, must be created and educated from childhood. From childhood, one has to learn to live in harmony with nature, its laws and principles.

The education and environmental education in a modern school must cover all ages, it must become a priority. The ecological knowledge must be enjoyed by all.

The task of the school is not only to form a certain amount of knowledge about ecology, but also to help acquire the skills of scientific analysis of nature's phenomena, understand the interaction of society and nature, understand the importance of its practice welfare for nature.

At present, the greening of the educational work of the school has become one of the main directions for the development of the school system.

Ecology is often understood as a "macroecology", that is, a broad interdisciplinary complex that unites common and applied ecology.

However, it became absolutely clear that it is impossible to teach the student such macroecology only in the lessons. Other forms and methods of work are needed: excursions to nature, work in the laboratory and extracurricular activities, the so-called "interactive forms of education": discussions, debates, ecological evenings, performances, conversations, role plays and other events.

For greater effectiveness and success of environmental education of students, it is very important to fill all activities with local material on the state of the environment in our region, city and district. This material can be taken from the state report on the state of the environment, using data from the administration of our district.

And you can get that data yourself. This is especially effective in the process of independent research and development activities. The research character of the activity promotes the education of the students of initiative, active and conscientious attitude to the scientific experiment, increases the interest in studying the ecological condition of their locality, the environmental problems of their native land.

At present, several educational and reference books on ecology have been published. This is enough to guarantee a high scientific and methodological level of lessons. But it is necessary to continue studying ecology. For this, "interactive forms of education" are used. The importance of the practice is the ability to generalize the accumulated experience of environmental education into extracurricular activities, and also to use these developments in future work.

The task that is put to the children in the implementation of the research: the acquisition of knowledge about the native land, the city, the acquisition of skills in practical research activities, the awareness of the importance of their practical assistance to nature.

Environmental problems are multidimensional, therefore, for their solution they require an integrated approach and, as a rule, knowledge of different sciences. Therefore, in the process of working on the project, students form a set of specific skills, supported by an adequate theoretical foundation.

Then, the ecological education of schoolchildren is necessary for harmonious development and is a necessary form of work, with a sense of belonging to one's own time, personal responsibility for everything that happens around them.
