Between so many magical places that exist in the world it is very difficult to choose only one to develop the fun and learning of children. That is why on this occasion I would like to share with you a museum in Spain where I would like to take my students if I had the possibility.

Why a museum?

I think it's the funniest and real way for children to learn. Since museums are responsible for preserving, researching, and exhibiting, collections of arts, scientific among others, always with a cultural value. Currently there are a variety of museums, such as the museum of art, history, science, natural history, archaeological and dedicated to personalities just to name a few. Each one is full of history, anecdotes, and magic always seeking to capture the attention of its visitors, so that they enjoy, learn and take the best of experiences.

National Museum of Natural Sciences (MNCN) - Located in Madrid, Spain (in the old Palace of Industry and Arts of the Paseo de la Castellana).

The National Museum of Natural Sciences aims to promote knowledge of the diversity of the natural world. Starting from the basis that children love animals, in this place they will be able to see and even touch a great variety of species. It is divided into two thematic areas: Biology and Minerals, fossils and human evolution.

Children will be able to observe and learn about a series of minerals such as sulfur, and precious stones, as well as a collection of more than 300 meteorite specimens from different parts of the world, examples of volcanoes and fossils.

Exact replicas, made by professionals from a series of animals that have a great history, among which we can highlight:

The Thylacine: Extinct animal that stands out for its dog appearance, and tiger stripes.

The Avertuadas: The heaviest flying bird in the world, a representative species of the fauna of your country, which is in danger of extinction. Before it was common to see them in certain places , but currently not much.

The African elephant:It is one of the most emblematic pieces of the museum, due to its large size. In order to recreate this work of art, they had to move the structures outside the museum in the botanical garden.

But talking about the museum also talks about the most extraordinary fossils that can exist: they house fossils of a whale on the roof of the room, which is the second largest after the blue whale. A giant squid preserved in formaldehyde. And dinosaurs like the Diplodocus that marvels big and children with more than 75 vertebrae.

Large and small can enjoy a great walk. Adamas to learn about animal diversity and its origins. It is also a way of seeing the process of life, to the point of extinction. Many of the animals that appear in the museum are extinct but leave traces. It is important to take care of our planet. My students will leave happy, with much knowledge and a great responsibility for the environment.
