The Pioneer K-12 Students in their On the Job Training
Last June 6, 2011, the K-12 education system has been implemented in the Philippines. Series of seminars, training and workshops were given to both teaching and non-teaching staffs since the implementation date even until this day to produce quality and competitive graduates.
Finally this year, we will be having the pioneering batch of the K-12 curriculum march as graduates. Roughly two months before that'll happen, these grade 12 students are immersing on their field of choice.
Earlier today, I and my co-teacher decided to check the performance and condition of our students in their assigned company.
THE STAKEHOLDER
EGI Beach Resort situated in Pajac-Maribago Rd, Maribago, Lapu-Lapu City, Cebu
The view from the 10th floor. Amazing, I know. ;)
One of the three pools available in the resort.
The beach area doesn't have a powderized sand but it wan't that bad.
That moment made me realized that in every great establishment are the people working behind.
IT students assigned in the administration office.
Tourism students assigned to welcome guests and maintain the tidiness of the lobby area.
Other tourism students assigned in the stock room.
Cookery students with the Chefs supervising them.
Electrical students doing all around tasks. (Fixing the wires, cleaning the pool and sweeping the yard.)
As I asked the students about their training so far, some were a bit sad because they were expecting too much from the work that should have been given to them. They thought they will only focus on their field. However, some were very positive about it thinking that in reality, they will have to do what is assigned to them by their supervisors.
My visitation ended with me having a smiley face. The supervisors were very happy and contented with my students' performance. They had no complains and even commended some outstanding trainees. It also mattered to me that they somehow realized things and had a taste of reality.
Thank you for dropping by! :)
Love,
Glenna❤
Awesome, one day people will look back on how k-12 started and ended with being more prepared for the adult days of there lives. Good job.
True that! I remembered how skeptic the parents were back then. I guess they have seen its beauty now.
