Underlying issues of misbehaviours

This child is beyond help. He is totally bad to the core.

Have you ever heard teachers who were teaching low progress learners making such negative comments about their pupils’ behaviours?

These pupils would often use offensive words and may appear to be extremely rude to teachers and classmates.

They would often get themselves into fights and tend to be the bully of the class.

Little do you know that these behaviours and actions are just symptoms to camouflage their insecurity and lack of confidence.

Broken family

A home that is lacked of love.

A divorce single parent that is working hard just to cope with the financial needs of the family resulting in a neglected child.

A child that is constantly being abused physically as a channel to release an adult’s frustration of the problems and difficulties.

A child with both parents in prison where home is a place to take shelter.

A child who constantly suffered hunger without the basic needs met resulting the need to earn money using the wrong route.

These are just some of the many possible reasons that a child may be facing out of the classroom that a teacher may not get to see.

This child may already be facing shouting and physical abuse at home so the little shouting from a teacher has very little impact on him.

Can you just imagine you shower this child with care and concern regardless of his behaviour and find out the root of the problem?

Can you imagine your care becomes a shelter comfort and ignite the heart to learn in this child with a desire for a change of destiny when he grows into an adult?

As a teacher, you can do many things beyond the classroom boundaries.

The sky is the limit.

Learning difficulties or special needs

There may also be a group of pupils who have normal families but they appeared rude and not cooperative.

Some of them could be due to their learning difficulties resulting in lack of confidence in the subject.

They do not believe they can ever do it despite how much the teacher may want to help.

These pupils may appear to be like gangsters to cover their lack of confidence in learning.

They may not even know how to read simple words or do simple calculations.

They may also be special needs who were left undiagnosed.

Learning issues result in behavioural issues when no intervention was carried out at an earlier stage.

As an educator, you play an important role to identify the root of the problem.

Address the learning gaps and get professional help when necessary.

There can be many things you can do rather than just scolding and complaining about the pupil that is beyond help.

Listening and seeing

Be a great observer of small details that may give out important signals of possible root issues.

Listen attentively when a child is willing to share and observe the child even at their recess break.

Speak to a more experienced teacher about what you have observed and you can even submit the information that you gather to the school’s welfare department or educational psychologists for more intervention and help.

As an educator, you can be the light and turning point in a child.

You can be the one that changes the destiny of the young ones.

A teacher can just teach but a great educator educates a child for his whole life and future without an effect that lasts even adulthood.

Don’t give you and be the great educator today!

That's very true, and you are not wrong, but it does take a lot of perseverance and patience to go through with it

Teachers will need to go the extra miles to help these children! Thanks for the response!

There are so many reasons why a child can have bad behavior, that sometimes we tend to make mistakes when cataloging children, it is essential that we are very attentive and aware of all their behavior in order to detriment what is owed and to lend the help we can. Thanks for your cons. A good article. Greetings @fun2learn

Thanks for visiting my article!

Violent and disrespectful kids mostly become from a violent and disrespectful home. Sadly some parents deny their kids behavior just to avoid changing their lives or admit their problems, they don't even know they feels everything since an early age and reflects it to the world.

The adult models are definitely important to children!
