Good Post Vs Great Post

in #steemiteducation5 years ago (edited)

There are different opinions about what is a quality post.

Some people may feel that a lengthy post is quality post because there is a comprehensive writing that covers all areas.

A lengthy post may be a good post but many readers may not read the whole post because it is too lengthy.

What is really a blog post?

I personally would think that a blog post is not a research paper but simply a short post to share certain aspect of content related to our interest.

A lengthy post may often be so lengthy that readers may not read the whole post but simply support due to relationship with the content creators.

I must admit that the popular content creators on steem platform have a big pool of auto-upvote supporters so regardless of the quality of content each day, there would be those regular upvotes.

What are good posts?

Good posts may be generally quality posts that are informative and comprehensive in the content.

Probably one that does not have grammar errors and good sentence structure but a good post may not always have many supporters especially for new comers on the platform.

What are great posts?

My personal opinion of a great post would be one that speaks to the readers’ needs and readers would have the ‘Aha’ moment that enlightens readers about certain issues or aspects that are close to their hearts.

Great posts do not have to be lengthy since lengthy posts may lead to readers missing the key points.

I have changed my writing style for a period of time.

I used to write lengthy posts but I have change to writing short posts with a videoclip.

Simple short posts with a videoclip to illustrate more can be more informative than lengthy posts with too many words to read.

In Conclusion

Great posts need not be lengthy posts but posts that can touch the hearts of readers.

Lengthy posts may be quality posts but there may be too much information for readers to catch the main ideas.

This post is really just my personal opinion so there is no right or wrong.

You can have your own personal opinion about what is good and what is great.
