One of the most important aspects of infant psychological development is the parent-infant attachment. Attachment is a sense of belonging to or a connection with each other. This bond between parents is critical for normal development and even survival.
Although the bond and unconditional love between most children and their parents will always be there and cannot be made undone, the question is, are they happy with their parents or do they just go with the flow, because they are naturally loyal to their parents?

A British author and psychologist, Dr. R F Hertz, has been involved in a research project of wide-ranging interest. Almost a 100,000 children between the ages eight-years and fourteen-years-old, from all walks of life, in 24 different countries were asked to make a list of ten rules of behavior for their parents.
The majority of the children voted for the following:
- Do not quarrel in front of your children.
- Treat all your children with equal affection.
- Never lie to your children.
- There must be mutual lenience between parents
- There should be companionship between children and their parents.
- Treat your children's friends as welcome guests in their home.
- Children's questions should always be answered.
- Don't blame or punish your children in the presence of other children.
- Concentrate on your child's good points. Do not overemphasize his failings.
- Be constant in your affection and your mood.

Thanks for the warm hug, so nice! It is also a question of choice, some children chose to be the 'battered' poor me type, even though they grew up in homes that I always envied. But then you never know what goes on behind closed doors.
