SERPENTS

Snakes are reptiles without legs and with long and thin bodies. Although they do not have claws, they are excellent hunters. Some snakes have small hooks that are the remains of legs; they use them to hold on during mating. Most reproduce by eggs, but some give birth to already developed and formed offspring. Snakes use several senses to detect predators and prey. Most have an excellent view. You also feel the vibrations. There are many snakes that can detect the heat of warm-blooded animals, which are very useful at night. Its skeletal structure is simple, formed by the skull, the spine and the ribs. The spine is composed of small bones, 180 to 400, called vertebrae:

Below I will talk about some types of existing snakes:

POISONOUS SNAKES

Poisonous snakes kill or paralyze their prey by injecting a poison through long teeth called fangs. However, only one sixth of all the snakes that exist are poisonous and only some of them have a poison powerful enough to kill a person.

The cobras
they are highly poisonous snakes that live in Africa and Asia. Some bite and others throw jets of poison into the eyes of their victims to blind them and then attack them. When a cobra is angry, it raises its head, swells the fur hood under its head and hisses menacingly.

Poisonous snakes are used to make serums that heal victims of their bites. They are kept in captivity and milked to get the poison:

Rattlesnakes
They warn their predators of their poisonous condition by shaking the rattles of dry skin rings they have at the tip of their tail. They also shake the bells to attract the prey and then attack them:

CONSTRICTIVE SNAKE

Constrictive snakes squeeze their prey to death. They curl around the victim very hard, strangle her and then swallow her whole. The largest snakes in the world are constrictors, and they hunt large animals, such as deer, pigs and goats. However, it is very rare for them to attack human beings. There are also several small constrictors.

The anacondas
of South America are the heaviest snakes in the world. They can weigh more than 130 kilos. They live near the water and wait in the lowlands until the prey approaches them:

      The powerful
Reticulated python
it is the longest snake in the world, measuring up to 10 meters. It is found in Indonesia, the Philippines and Southeast Asia. She is a good swimmer and can crush a boar and cause death in less than a minute:

The rainbow boa
Brazil is not only colorful, it also shines in the sunlight. The microscopic edges of its scales refract the sun's rays like prisms. Unlike most snakes, which lay eggs, it gives birth to live chicks already formed.

RARE SNAKES

The world is full of unusual snakes. The smaller ones are as thin as a pencil sheet and fit in the palm of your hand. The rarest are the marine snakes, some of which spend their entire lives in the sea. there are also flying vipers, which instead of getting off a tree and climbing another take the easy way, that is, they throw themselves into the air and slide from tree to tree.

Blind viper:
There are thin, almost blind, snakes that are found in the warm parts of the world. They usually have soft, shiny bodies and obtuse, rounded heads to dig burrows. Some lay their eggs in termite nests because they provide protection for eggs and food when they hatch:

Sea snakes:
There are many kinds of marine snakes in the warm oceans of the world. They eat eels and other fish. The krait of the Pacific, terribly poisonous, procreates in the sea, but the females spawn on the ground:

Freshwater snakes:
Almost all snakes can swim, but water snakes are hunted in ponds and rivers. They rest on the branches of the riverside trees, and submerge in the water at the first sign of danger:

Flying vipers:
The flying vipers live in the treetops of the rainforests. They slide from one tree to another keeping the body rigid, or curved in the shape of an "S":
