Fruit and something more

Source

After each meal, Juan eats a fruit because the doctor gave it to him, that way his tissues would be kept in good conditions and his internal organs would receive vitamins. The doctor knows that fruits have many substances that help our body. Juan's favorite fruit is orange. If Andrés took an orange and cut it into four ...

With what numbers can the parts of the orange represent?.

Think, respond and conclude

Observe the way the orange is represented.

What does the whole orange represent?
In how many parts has the orange been divided?
How are those parts?
What does each part of the total of the orange represent?
Source

If you divided the orange into four equal parts, what part would each represent, with respect to the orange?

The unit can be divided equally. Each of these parts is called a "fraction". In a fraction, the denominator indicates in how many equal parts the unit has been divided; and the numerator indicates how many of those parts of the unit have been taken.

Graphical and symbolic representation of fractions.

  • Fractions less than the unit: the numerator is less than the denominator.

The shaded region is of the total region.
The fraction says "a medium"

  • Fractions greater than unity: The numerator is greater than the denominator.

The shaded region is of the total region.
The fraction reads: "five quarters"

  • Fractions equal to the unit: They have the numerator the same as the denominator.

The shaded region is of the total region.
The fraction reads: "four quarters"

Activities to do in the notebook:

  1. Graph the fractions.
    a- two thirds
    b- eight ninth
    c- seven twelfth
    d- nine rooms

  2. In a food contest, each participant divided his plate according to the nutrients he had.
    Who divided it equally?

I have always thought that visual aids, like an orange, explain fractions and mathematics so much better than just jotting down the theory. Awesome teaching aid!

That's right, teaching classes with practice is much easier to learn, it is never forgotten. Thanks for comment.
@sweetpea

very well explaining its publication, the fabulous steemit and a good publication as to yours that one moves in time, remember my school and my 4th grade teacher. Thanks for contributing a good publication to the steemit community.

Hello @theonlyway, thanks for commenting I like that you like my content, I try in the best possible to take a teaching with these.

math teacher do find ways to make the abstract tangible.... kudos teacher @deisip67😊

That's right, friend. Thanks for comment.

@deisip67 gracias por tu aporte para con nosotros un fuerte abrazo

I'm a teacher. Good expression, I celebrate you. @Deisip67
