Learn "multiplication tables" in a fun way (videos)
Hi, friends of Steemiteducation, thanks for these activities where they let us participate and motivate us every week with great ideas, despite being now at rest I feel useful giving my contributions in this great blog.
In my work as a teacher I like to apply strategies that motivate the students and therefore the classes are more pleasant and easy to learn, looking for a meaningful learning in them.
Meaningful learning is opposed to rote learning and refers to a learning method where the new knowledge to acquire is related with previous knowledge (Ausubel 2000).
In meaningful learning, the learners are "integrating" new information into old information (Novak 2002). Concept mapping has been found to be a useful technique for this (Novak 2002). It allows learners to connect their existing knowledge to the subject being learned.
The Internet has been a major factor in meaningful learning. Web 2.0 technologies, such as Wikipedia, blogs, and Youtube, have made learning easier and more accessible for students (Hamdan et al. 2015).
To achieve meaningful learning it is important that the teacher select the material according to the age of the students and the need of the group, this must be organized, so that the construction of knowledge is given and the student connects the new knowledge with the previous ones ; when the information received is related to the previous one, a significant and lasting learning is achieved. "Building your own knowledge."
We know how difficult it is to get students to learn multiplication tables, and after applying several methods: making lottery games with multiplication tables, competition among students of other grades.
I found a series of videos on the web that I thought was a fun way for students to learn multiplication by singing and thus achieving the expected goal for most students to learn all multiplication tables at the end of the school year.
Hello, what you say is very true you should instruct the child according to age. Encouraging the student in different ways makes them an excellent development. Numbers are important in all areas.
