How to learn to control emotions?
Not all our negative emotions are harmful, but we must learn to control them. The lack of control over our reactions, even positive, in different situations of life, can be detrimental to our emotional well-being.

Not everyone knows that toxicity is not only a physical phenomenon, but also a psychological one. Every day we accumulate different emotions: tension, stress, anxiety, anger, etc. That is, we feed our minds not only with useful products, but also with others that are not healthy, which leads to inappropriate behavior habits and harmful stereotypes. Of the thought that hinders our correct development.
Therefore, it is important that from time to time we all resort to emotional purification and do so with full confidence that we can not close our eyes and ignore everything that happens within us.
Toxic emotions that we accumulate more often.
Not all negative emotions are harmful to health. For example, sadness and anger fulfill their function. However, lack of control over any of our reactions, even happy ones, can be detrimental to our emotional well-being.

For this reason, it is important to be able to control our emotions so that they do not become pathological and do not prevent us from living. Therefore, irritation should not become anger, while sadness should be controlled in such a way that it does not turn into depression.
In addition, we can not allow hurt feelings, feelings of guilt or dissatisfaction to become our permanent emotional state, since its cumulative effect is highly toxic to our health. Let's take a closer look at these emotions:
Anger He can help us protect us in a critical situation, but the truth is that he should not abuse this emotion. In addition, if you release it regularly, the risk of getting sick increases, since anger keeps our body in uncontrolled tension.
Insult If we are unable to move forward and forgive offenses, we are trapped in the past, which now defines our present and future, and we are constantly dependent on this emotional pain.
Dissatisfaction. Sometimes, this emotion helps us grow. However, when this emotional state is permanent, we lose the joy of life and block our further development, trapped in this constant discomfort.
Sense of guilt This emotion fills our minds with reproaches, complaints, laments and constant thoughts about problems. As a result, we feel that we have no meaning and we lose faith in the possibility of self-realization.
Fear This emotion can also be useful to warn us of a possible threat. However, fear can impede our progress and become an additional limitation when it loses its original meaning, destroying our feelings and our ability to respond.
We must clearly understand that we need time to carry out this detoxification, as well as the fact that, as in the case of alcohol abuse, we will have a serious hangover period. On the other hand, the emotional hangover contributes to the appearance of feelings of guilt, constant anger, difficulty sleeping, uncontrollable sadness ...
But do not worry, because having understood the reason for their behavior and identified "toxic" emotions, the recovery process has already begun. Knowing this, you can stop drinking this "cocktail of negative emotions" and begin the process of emotional purification, which is extremely necessary for all of us. The symptoms disappear and your feelings will return to correspond to reality.
1. Become a conscious observer of your emotions.
We must understand that when we are influenced by our emotions and uncertainty, it causes us great harm. We lose the ability to correctly evaluate things and, most likely, we are talking or doing what we have to regret later.

Given these problems, it is important to fully recognize that we are intoxicated with emotions and that we should take the time to clarify and accept them. Do you often feel unhappy, guilty, or are you unreasonably moody? Do you have a tendency to react disproportionately when something happens that you did not expect?
You can do a little experiment and get an emotional diary to record all the emotions you experienced during the day and its intensity. Identify these reactions and give them a name. Sure, you will be surprised
If we learn to quickly identify these five toxic emotions, we will understand the reason for our intoxication. This will allow us to get rid of them quickly, because it is extremely important to maintain our emotional balance.
2. Allow yourself to experience a variety of emotions.

Source
It is difficult for us to accept and experience our emotions, because throughout life we are taught to hide or deny them. We must learn not to be afraid of emotions and to be honest with ourselves, this is the only way to deal with them and not allow them to control our lives.
3. Go to an "emotional diet"
Stop "consuming" those emotions that hurt you. Exclude offense and sacrifice, anger, guilt, fear or any other emotion that bothers you from your emotional diet.

Source
Walking through life can be a difficult challenge for a person who is in a state of toxic intoxication with their emotions, but it is even more difficult to move forward instead of boycotting success or achieving goals.
The only way to overcome this desire for "emotional suicide" is to force yourself to admit that there is something within us that feeds the fear of reaching our goals and getting rid of this "toxin".
The fear of reaching the objectives is mainly related to our inability to support a state of uncertainty. We fear this because we do not trust our ability to face future problems.
For this reason, it is important to carry out this emotional cleansing process on a regular basis so as not to allow accumulated discomfort to influence our well-being.
We are painfully linked to a sense of trust, we need everything to be controlled, in the right place and I try it a thousand times. This leads to the accumulation of toxins, which cause an imbalance within us and this does not allow us to be at peace with ourselves. If you are intoxicated by emotions, remember that there is only one person in this world who can stop you from reaching the heights, and that person is yourself.

This was a nice post @deisip67 but I think there are some personality types that are better at managing their emotions than others. For some people it's normal to experience mood swings (i.e. toxic emotions).
People who are extrovert and assertive are good at patience and can relax themselves easily in most cases but they also tend to be lazier than Extrovert-Turbulents.
People who are Extrovert and Turbulent on the other hand are better at getting things done but are also prone to mood swings (a.k.a. toxic emotions).

For me, I tr to control my emotions giving the bad feelings transformed in anger, since this one is the feeling that I can control most. For me, that is the most easiest way to solve the problem of self control.
Thanks for sharing!
