The universe is filled with unending questions. Man’s quest to unravelling the mysteries of the universe led to the discovery of the black hole.

You may be wondering what a blackhole is. Backholes are mysterious and bizarre object in the universe. The fact is we hardly know about what is inside a blackhole.

We know and also understand what we see outside of a black hole but we have k=no means of getting inside one to have a look at what is going on in there.

If a probe were to be sent inside a black hole it will not survive the trip. If it somehow survived the journey, there is no way it will transmit any signal once it is sucked inside.

Formation of A Blackhole

It is a product of matter that is squeezed together very densely and vey compactly that it creates a gravitational pole that is so strong which draws everything that is close to it in and not even light can escape it.

i will focus mostly on Supermassive black holes

Supermassive Blackholes

They have masses millions to billions the size of the Sun in our solar system. Supermassive blackholes exist in every known galaxies where they are located at the center of it.

Have you ever seen a picture of the Milky Way or a spiral galaxy? You may notice that in the center that there is a giant mass of light which may appear like a massive Sun. The light is not coming from the blackhole. Do remember that light cannot escape from the gravitational pull of the black hole rather the light we see comes from the magnetic fields near a spinning blackhole that propels electrons outwards in a jet along the rotational axis.

The electrons produces a bright radio waves. Quasars are believed to produce the energy from supermassive blackholes in the center of the galaxies in which the quasars are located. Quasars are so bright that they drown out the light from other stars in the same galaxy which they exist.
Not to get you mixed up in this mysterious topic of the black hole, you may be wondering what a quasar is.


A quasar also known as quasi-stellar object is a highly energetic surrounding an actively feeding supermassive blackhole.
A quasar is an active galactic nucleus of very high luminosity. A quasar consists of a supermassive black hole surrounded by an orbiting accretion disk of gas. As gas in the accretion disk falls toward the black hole, energy is released in the form of electromagnetic radiation.

Basically the supermassive blackhole in the galaxy feeds intermittently. As it feed gas whirls around it at incredible speeds that forms an insanely bright hot orbiting disk and if the blackhole is swallowing a large amount of materials. This feeding is accomplished by gigantic jets of gas. These are called quasars.

They are fuelled by the blackholes they orbit. Some supermassive blackholes giant’s release an extraordinary large amounts of light when they rip apart stars in devour mater and are likely the driving force behind the quasars. When materials get too close to a blackhole it forms that bright hot accretion disk around the blackhole. That accretion disk heats up to millions of degrees blasting out an enormous amount of radiation.

The magnetic environment around the blackhole forms twin jets of materials which flow out into space for millions of light years. This becomes what is called an active galactic nucleus.

The diet of the blackhole consist mostly of gas and dust which fill the empty space throughout the universe. Blackholes can consume materials torn from nearby stars. The most massive blackholes can swallow stars w
hole.

Blackholes can grow by colliding and merging with another blackhole. The growth process is what can reveal the presence of a blackhole. Supermassive blackhole are not always feeding. If a blackhole does not feed, the jets run out of power and shuts down until something or matter gets close to it which can start up the system.

The supermassive blackhole in the center of the Milky Way is out of space material to consume. It is completely dormant or rather in active for the time being. It is sleeping giant without no active galactic nucleus and so there is no quasar emitting light.

However we are on a collision course with another galaxy and in about 4 - 10 billion years or so when the Milky Way collides with the Andromeda galaxy.

The blackhole truly sound like a bad monster that exist in space. They can be dangerous because it sucks anything that comes remotely to it. If any object gets into a blackhole. It will never come out or be recovered.


One feature of the blackhole that is remarkable is that they are at suck at pulling materials close to them. There are couple of reasons for this.

• The blackhole is not attracted or attractive to anything other than gravity. Just like our solar system is in a stable orbit. This also applies to the black hole. The vast majority of the universe is in a stable orbit around the blackhole. There is no reason for anything to go go plunging in to the center.

• Blackholes are inefficiently at getting materials close enough to them to cross the event horizon and add to the mass of the blackhole. Even small blackholes that exist in great numbers in the galaxy are much better at tearing a companion star apart than they are actually growing their own size by consuming the star hole.

For a fact blackholes will not suck in objects from large distances.it can only suck in objects that comes very close to it.


For example, imagine replacing the Sun with a black hole of the same mass. Permanent darkness would fall on earth but the planet will continue to revolve around the black hole at the same distance and speed. No planet will be sucked in unless it comes some 10 miles of the blackhole. The distance of the earth to the sun is a comforting 95 million miles.

So what exactly is inside of a blackhole

Current theories

Predicts that all the matter in the black hole is located in a single point at the center. However we do not understand how the central singularity works. To understand the blackhole completely, the center requires fusion of the theory of gravity with the theory that describes the behaviour of matter on the smallest scale called Quantum Mechanics. This unifying theory has already been given a name called quantum gravity. How this works still remains unknown?
This is one of the most important unsolved problems of physics.

Einstein’s Theory of General relativity



Allows unusual for blackholes for example the central singularity might form a bridge to another universe.


Sounds more like a warm hole which is a mysterious solutions to Einstein’s equations that has no event horizon.

In general relativity, an event horizon is a boundary in space time beyond which events cannot affect an outside observer. In layman's terms, it is defined as the shell of "points of no return", i.e., the points at which the gravitational pull becomes so great as to make escape impossible, even for light.


Warmholes and bridges may allow travel to another universe and perhaps time travel. Without any observation and experimental data which science is all about then all of these are speculations? There is no way to ascertain that warmholes and bridges exist in the universe.

Does a blackhole live forever?

If there is nothing to consume then it will die.

We can't talk about the blackhole without mentioning Stephen Hawkings


Stephen Hawking is a theoretical physicist in cosmologist who is at the forefront on the study of blackholes. He came up with the study of blackholes emitting radiation. This is now known as the Hawking radiation. Hawking radiation reduces the mass and energy of black holes. Therefore known as blackhole evaporation.

Hawking radiation also known as Hawking–Zel'dovich radiation, is blackbody radiation that is predicted to be released by black holes, due to quantum effects near the event horizon.

As a result of this black holes that doesn’t gain any mass are expected to shrink and ultimately vanish. In simple terms, if a blackhole does not consume anything then it will disappear. Then all the mass and energy it as sucked inside will evaporate back into space in the form of radiation. This in other words makes the blackhole function as a universe recycling machine.
Stephen hawking proved this in 1974 by using the laws of quantum mechanics to study the region close to a blackhole horizon. The quantum theory describe the behaviour of matter on the smallest scales. It predicts that tiny particle and light are continuously created and destroyed on subatomic scales. Some of the light created has a very small chance of escaping before it is destroyed.
To an outsider it is as though the event horizon glows. The energy carried away by the glow decreases the blackhole’s mass till it is completely gone.
However, hawking’s glow is completely irrelevant for any of the blackhole findings known to exist in the universe. For them the temperature of the glow is almost at zero and the energy loss is negligible.


Now, the time needed for the blackhole to lose much of their mass is unimaginably long. If smaller blackholes exist in the universe then that will be catastrophic. A black hole as massive as the size of a cruise ship would disappear in a bright light flash in less than a second. Releasing large amounts of radiation into the universe.

Are we going to get answers to what is inside of a blackhole someday?

Could it truly be a gateway to another dimension or universe?

I beleive blackholes are one of the most recent discoveries of complex astronomy. Its just very difficult to comprehend...

the topic is still a mystery ... unraveling this will be an astonishing feat

What do you think the chances are that black holes and white holes are connected by an umbilical of mass we know as a singularity?

Hypothetically speaking: the chances are very high.
Since in general relativity it is a region in space time we cannot access from the outside but light can escape from it unlike the black hole . It is very possible that they are connected.

White holes are more like the opposite of a blackhole
