Planting purple carrots with the Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten (VPK) class for color week
This week the Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten (VPK) class planted Cosmic purple carrots for our theme of colors.
We planted the carrots in a window box since the area I was told I could plant was on the sidewalk in the fenced in area.
Two of the children carried the window box out to the area. One child carried out the potting soil and another child carried out the water can and water.
We placed the window box next to the wall and another two children took turns putting the potting soil into the window box. Then another child poured the water from the water can over the potting soil. Then all 15 children were given a small amout of seeds to sprinkle over the wet potting soil. Two other children sprinkled potting soil over the seeds in the window box. Another child went into the classroom to get the plastic that was by the door to cover the window box with. The last 5 children helped with covering the window box with the plastic.
I made sure all the children had a chance with the planting of the purple carrot seeds. It was quite exciting to see their expressions and hear them tell their parents of what they had done in class that day. Yes I could of made it easier on my self by having everything set up and them just sprinkle the seeds on the potting soil. But it wouldn't of had the same learning experience or the same excitement in doing it.

Great move With awesome photo illustration
Thank you @stilt
That is a nice little project you have for the kids. I was wondering where you lived to be planting seeds this time of year but your profile says Florida so that make sense. I'm in Tennessee and today it is rainy and cold! Fall is moving in earlier than expected.
Yes I live in Florida. And we have been having rain and thunderstorms since we planted them. We only get 1 or 2 weeks of cold weather all year.
