The limits are important for a better development in children; The limits are basic in the development because they become a guide, which allows knowing what can be done and what can not be done.
The limits help to understand the logical or natural consequences of the acts performed or to be performed. Knowing that limits are part of a correct walk through life, children and / or adults can adapt to different spaces, because they have a solid base, that is, a structure that helps to have security.
How to know if the child has no limits?
There are different behaviors in each child, so it is necessary to focus on some behaviors. For example:
Be alert if the child has problems following the instructions.
When children defy the limits established by the adult.
When children find it hard to respect, for example, they do not respect their turn to speak.
Be alert if the child has little tolerance for frustration.
When the child does not know how to wait.
When to determine if the child is acting wrong due to lack of limits?
When a child misbehaves, this is expected in the process of development and learning, they are very specific skills, since they are in an egocentric age. Children do not understand that other people can and want different things, therefore, they can not self-regulate.
When children have bad behavior, establishing limits is not a matter of choice, it is a necessity from the beginning of learning, therefore, bad behaviors must begin to diminish.
With limits, children can be controllable; Even when children show frustration, anger is a natural process and, over time, the right action can allow them to come up with good behavior and behave correctly.
The limits and the consequence of the acts performed
The consequences given to children respecting not to comply or abide by the limits, should always be constant when they tend to perform the same action without doing the right thing.
Setting limits to children gives structure, and in this way it is understood that a certain action will have a consequence.
Illogical consequences:
Do not yell at children.
Do not hit the child.
You should not be aggressive with the child.
Logical consequences:
Simply the adult must be firm in the consequences that at first he has raised.
Be congruent.
Consequences for a person who grows and acts without limits?
Consequences in themselves, do not allow people to have consistency, firmness, only allowed to act with violence, people then enter a state of uncertainty, where they feel they have no control over their actions.
The limits help people to have control, and if they do not have control over their actions, what they will have is anxiety. The strongest consequence in a person is insecurity and anxiety.
Having no limits, people have in their future behavior acts that are not necessarily bearable and cause problems, because they have not had a good structure since childhood.
