Recycling is fun

Recycling is much more than storing a specific material in each container for its classification. It is about maintaining our planet in stable and desired conditions so that its life prevails.

It is about giving love to those who allow you to live in their habitat, while we recycle we keep the planet safe.

Providing recycling classes in schools is a wonderful thing, you see how we feed that love for the care of our land and take care of ourselves. We live on this planet and we must take care of it as the greatest treasure.

Let's show the children that recycling allows the existence of flora, fauna and living beings on the planet, therefore, we must see to it that they prevail

If recycling did not exist, the contamination would be totally ending with all of us.

Let them know how long it takes materials to degrade.

  • 100 to 1,000 years: PVC or PET plastic bottles.
  • 4,000 years: Glass bottles. But being composed of sand and carbonates of sodium and calcium, it is 100% recyclable.
  • 1,000 years: Disposable polypropylene cups. They are also not biodegradable and are divided into minimal particles such as the telgopor. Also batteries (composed of mercury, zinc, chromium, arsenic, lead and cadmium, all extremely polluting materials).
  • 150 years: Plastic bags. They degrade faster than bottles, because they are thinner.
  • 100 years: Disposable lighters.
  • 30 years: Spray cans, bottle caps (metal part).
  • 10 years: Soda or beer cans.
  • 5 years: Chewing gum.
  • 1 to 2 years: Cigarette butts.
  • 1 year: Papers.

There are many ways to recycle material, in this case and to make an activity in classes or in the homes, we will use plastic bottles.

Let's propose to the children to collect empty plastic bottles and in this way we would be contributing to the recycling.

The theme of the activity will be Christmas

The activity is related to Christmas trees and in this very special case will be made with empty plastic bottles.

We will ask the children to pick up empty bottles and bring them to school so they can make the Christmas tree in their classroom.

Fun and with a purpose, it's about recycling these empty bottles to make a fabulous Christmas tree.

Materials to be used: Quantity of bottles of around two hundred (200), cardboard for the internal mold, silicon in bar and some decorative figures made with foam or colored cardboard.
Optional: The bottles can be drawn in colors, if it is the children's taste.

All the Christmas trees are not similar when it comes to improvising, even more if it is with recycling material, let's make it fun and give it an original touch.
