Children as they grow up are assimilating faster and numbers are an important part in developing growth, counting, sharing and receiving.

To teach fractions, the first thing to do is to make known the concept:

What is a fraction?

It is a number that is obtained by dividing something into parts and is represented mathematically by numbers that are written on top of each other and are separated by a horizontal straight line called a fractional line.

For kids they are usually a bit confused at first and wonder.

Why are two numbers? One up and one down?

Because fractions have a number called numerator and a number called denominator

For greater understanding for the little ones we can explain in the following way:

Before entering a more fun world among numbers, we will see an example of numerator and denominator:

For children, the subject may be tedious, but we must find the fun way to teach them so they can learn.

If they learn playing hands then, for them is something fascinating then proposing this type of games would be perfect.

  • #1 Make letters with different numerators and denominators, to go placing one by one on the table and say what its denomination.

  • #2 Make puzzle type tiles to link, in an orderly manner when dictated or ask for the desired fraction.

Here are some easy steps to teach fractions:
• Group of children
• Review basic operations: addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
• Associate the known with the unknown: link the division and fractions as the same procedure but with different expression.
• Give practical examples and, if possible, representables.
• Propose a game: children should be organized in the classroom in groups according to the fractions that you indicate, for example if it is 2 out of 4, two children will be placed on one side and four on the other side.
• Propose problems in which fractions must be applied.
• Show them the need to have the multiplication tables memorized in order to quickly resolve the fractions.
• Order the memorization of the most basic simplifications for reference.

Practice is most useful when the child has fun doing something he likes to do. That is why games, or applications to real problems are preferable to the exercises presented in the textbook. In a game students want to be precise and fast in order to win, incorrect answers can be used to correct mistakes and reinforce strategies to get correct answers.

Fun learning makes children understand faster, they must find ways to motivate them to learn how wonderful numbers are, games in this case put the mind to work with greater motivation.

Hello, it's a very fun way for them to learn,
Greetings and thanks for reading the post.

you always welcome friend...

I liked the dynamics of the cards.

Hi, thank you very much, it's like when you play "one" with cards that you are learning little by little with practice.
Greetings.

Interesting article, can be very useful for those teachers who have no other way to teach fractions to children. By making tasks dynamic or fun, children understand much better and do not get bored. A good post greetings.

Hello, it's that way, make learning fun, so they pay attention.
Greetings.

Very nice post thank you for sharing these numbers with us.

Hello, good afternoon, it is good to be able to share something that will be useful for teachers and the same time for parents who at home should continue with teaching at home to the little ones.
Greetings.

Hello, thank you very much for taking this post and sharing it with everyone at steemit, I hope it is useful since the dynamics is fun and so the little ones do not tend to get bored.
Greetings.
